Can't wait to see when Woolsey and Daniel Jackson meet again in the two-parter. Wasn't the last time they were together, Woolsey gave the order to have Daniel killed? (SG1-Shroud)
I've seen him in 'The Seed' and he was ok, but only because he was re-written to compromise (the previous Woolsey was too rigid for leadership). I would have still preffered a military leadership, with the civilians is too much debate of every decision. Take Sam for example, she was on the same frequency with both military and science personal, completing eachother thoughs and speaches, making the events more fluid.
I hope the 'treat level' will not stay 'down' for long, though. The characters are by now fairly developed, the story not so much and this may be the last season (?). I mean the Wraiths are fighting eachother, 'too many Wraith not enough human to feed', for the last 3 seasons with no masterplan or perspective.
It was different. Say it was Weir, she would just said go right away. It seems Woolsey is getting respect, but very cautious respect. I am sure something will happen that will result in a little tension.
I like Woolsey as the leader of Atlantis. Obviously when he first appeared in the show (in Sg-1 I mean) he was a pure antagonist - but they are doing a nice job of developing the character. Even in SG-1 he was becoming less of a villian and more of a regular guy trying to do his job.
I like Robert Picardo as an actor and I am very glad he has been given the opportunity to play a regular part in Atlantis. I look forward to seeing his character develop further. Personally I think I'd like to see a scene between Woolsey and Bob the Wraith, I think that would be something special
I can picture in my mind, a world without war, a world without hate.... and i can picture us attacking that world cause they'd never see it comming

i must admit i wasnt too sure on Woolsey before i saw him, but then i thought, hey nobody wanted weir to get stargate command at first but loads of people grew to love her inc me, i mean if this was 'real' politics would mean the ioa would want a man on the inside and as woolsey prob has the most 'field exp' i could see why he would be sent. After the first 3 spisodes i now have a warm fuzzy feeling about him
Its been totally unexpected, but I am happy with the way the character has been written so far. tptb definitely changed him up a bit though. He's still "by the book" but nowhere near as much as before.
His rigidity has definitely been reduced and now he's a mix of Weir, Carter and old-Woolsey.
I have not seen him yet but I think he will do well
... why??
For the simply fact that he is a great actor! On Star Trek Voyager he work was excellent and his character is and remains to be one of my absolute favorites in the Star Trek world.
It is of course important that he is provided with some great scene and that the writers will let this character to develop. From the start, in SG1, his character was given a kind of dry personality but this is what Picardo is good at to transform his characters (if he is allowed..just look at the Doc. on Voyager...).
Go Picardo..!!
I wonder if he will ever start to sing as his character did on Voyager?
"History will never be the same again..."
"Indeed!"
"No kidding..!"
"If you say so..!"
"Here we go again..!"
"Never say never..!"
I've seen him and he is great !
One more reason why i am pleased, is that bringing him in the show might mean that the show is meant to last for quite a while. Not just 1 or 2 seasons more but more.
I wish this isn't just my "wishfull thinking ";/
