Not that it would make sense or anything along the timeline or whatever....

but Colmwell(sp?) of the Genii said that they were once a power in this galaxy long ago. Doesn't really make sense if the wraith were there they would have never allowed the Genii to be powerful. Kinda makes me wonder a little bit.

The scary thing is that the HZ people had that technology at LEAST 10,000 years ago... can you imagine how advanced they'd be now?

A great enemy which outnumbered them and fed upon the defenseless human worlds. So it's either the Wraith or we have another race of somethings that feed off humans which, apparentely beseiged Atlantis and forced them to submerge the city, something we know for a fact the Wraith did because of the events in "Before I Sleep".

So either she was speaking of the Wraith OR they were beseiged twice and had to submurge the city twice against two sepearate enemies that were very similar!

And then in "Before I Sleep", Weir goes back in time and low and behold, Atlantis is all that remains, and who are the people attacking them? The wraith are the only enemy. While it might be nice for it to be someone else, the dark enemy is indeed the Wraith. That still doesn't preclude the existence of another more secretive race that fights through techniques like nanotech viruses that terrorize human victims before killing them. However, the "dark enemy" is undoubtedly the Wraith.

Unless TPTB feel like digging a giant plothole, which I wouldn't put totally past them.

Also, the nanovirus didn't effect people with the ATA gene, so it'd be pretty silly of them to make a bioweapon that wouldn't work on their enemies.

But it did affect people with ATA. McKay still had hallucinations.

Yeah, but it didn't kill them. It probably effects pretty much everyone because it's a nanovirus, but it only kills humans.

Besides, the Ancients knew about it. "If you start seeing ghost-like skeletal beings flying around, remember that they're just illusions" was probably something posted on the Ancient billboards for a while.

Well they had the go'auld (sp) and the replicators at the same itme, why would it be any different for the ancients, besides what was Thor and Heimdall doing in Ripple Effect that was so important, has it any potential consequence on Atlantis?

Try watching the hologram part again.
They clearly state that the enemy 'fed' upon worlds untill only atlantis was left.

what do you think are the odds that there are 2 entirely different races that both suck the life out of humans, better yet, WHY would they create a virus that kills humans if they according to you feed on them.

They awoke the wraith who were probably in hibernation from their last feeding which cleaned the entire galaxy from any human life.

Do you realise that your not making any sense with your opinion?

Just a point, do you recon that the new enemy will have lots of ships, or just be land-based and use the stargate for transport?

i forgot i started this thread in january but im back anyways, it was stated and maybe some one else could help me out here and provide some info to the fact mentioned because im knackered and going to bed soon, but it stated that creators of the HZV will be this new enemy that appears in season 3, my original concern was are the wraith going to be forgotten in place of a new enemy that is an imrovement on what i personaly think is a great villan to the show and could have much more to contribute to the show than some random enemy that had been on atlantis before SGA and created some random virus to brutally kill humans, their grudge to humans may run deeper than we know but all will soon be revealed this summer one would hope
