Science fiction uses recycled ideas all the time. Do you have a 'great idea' for season 3, sitheguy78?Last edited by Shep'sSocks; 10 December 2005, 12:26 AM.

uhm how about this. they find in the middle of the city on the bottom floor a lift. that goes down to a big door which is passworded (keypad) so they dont know how to get in and so get zalenka in to break through the door with code (seein as mckay is away working on another stationery defence for the city in orbit of a moon) zalenka breaks the code and finds an armory of anicent weapons (small arms ancient grenades heavy arms (lil the gu auld one but look ancienty (explain that as where the gu auld got there plans from). and a bay full of anicent fighters. then key the story goin with the bottom part of the city and mention it occasionally for 2 or 3 eps and then they find that there is an ancient submarine bay ( hidden before) and they find an observatory at the bottom of the sea that holds an armary for the ancient defence weapons (basically beef it up a lil) then have sg teams goin out with the ancient weapons and devices to do a few sorties on the wrath. anyone like that idea ? does that sound stale and used?

Why didn't Atlantis pick the presence of the Goa'uld; I mean the ZPM gave them full power so all the sensors/gizmos/gadgets are operating at peak performance -> so therefore it should have been picked up a long time ago!!!
Spoiler:if there is goa'uld, on atlantis in PG than it maybe safe to assume the future of Atlantis will involve the oriIt's a joke. My way of deflecting attention from my own obvious heroism. You'll get used to it.

Originally posted by rexpopThe easy answer would be that the Pegasus Ancients never encountered the Goa'uld so the Atlantis sensors probably were not tuned to look for them.
The again, the writers apparently forgot about the internal-external biometric sensors they found in the episode Sanctuary when they wrote Critial Mass.
Oops..Jarnin's Law of StarGate:
1. As a StarGate discussion grows longer, the probability of someone mentioning the Furlings approaches one.

I liked Sitheguy78's idea of an underwater level observatory, the idea that Atlantis goes on deeper underwater. A ship bay underwater...after finding the chamber a few episodes later the shadow of something is seen.
I really like the idea of introducing other mythical beasts…loch ness monster, dragons…the myths could have been brought back to earth by the ancients. We have already seen/ heard of dinosaurs in season 1.
I think the Atlantis team needs to find another ancient facility. A cloaked shipyard that sends an automated distress call to Atlantis after a wraith cruiser passes by. It’s been on minimal power since the ancients left; only sending its alert now that Atlantis can receive it.
I want to see more stasis pod chambers in Atlantis.
