I really struggled with my 30th birthday too and really wasn't happy about it... so I definitely don't think that's silly. And my grandma died actually on the day of my 22nd birthday (while I was living on my own in a foreign country as well!) so I definitely understand how that feels... and I've always been kinda ambivalent about my birthday since then.

Am glad to hear you are feeling more positive... *hugs*
