I've just read over on SyFy Portal that Paul McGillion hasn't got the role as Scotty in the new Star Trek. Shame as I'm sure he would have been great. I guess his age was against him as I read somewhere that they were looking for quite young actors to play the roles.

Have you seen Shaun of the Dead? Hot Fuzz? Run, Fatboy, Run? Simon Pegg starred in em all (and wrote the first two as well!). Oh and he was in an episode of Dr Who, if you watched that? He was the freaky controller on Satellite 5...

Yup. The first three are movies. He also wrote and starred in a fab quirky TV series in the UK called Spaced.

His age didn't go against him. Simon is 37. To be honest I never thought Paul would seriously get the role. I'm sorry for him he didn't get it though.
