G'night Erika and anyone else who's lurking around.

GW has put the "First Strike" spoiler images. Finally, a decent chunk with Sheppard!

and I stuck up the Skiffy photos they rotate on their page (since they'll be gone within 48 hours) at my LJ

OT for stuff discussed yesterday in the threadSpoiler:someone in the Aussie TV series list mentioned Blue Heelers. Wasn't Hugh Jackman on that show? I seem to recall him playing an attorney on a series. I did know about Connor Trinneer and "Will and Grace" but not John Barrowman! Interesting.
Can I just say.....the Shep Whumpers all deserve a big hug? {{{WHUMPERS}}}

Morning all. Well... it's nearly 1am here so yeah, that's morning.
Busy day for me today... went to London with my sister for a makeover and photo session that she won as a prize. It wasn't the best timing for me with being so busy at work (and I was phoning the US from my work mobile from the makeover place this afternoon!) but it was quite nice nonetheless to have a girly day with my sister. And, considering I'm not thrilled with how I look at present, we were actually quite pleased with some of the photos and picked three (a single one of each of us and one of us together) that we liked to bring away with us.
Wanna see?
OT:
Spoiler:
Other interesting news today.... remember how last year I had an audition for The Weakest Link and got put on the shortlist of contestants and then got phoned no less than three times and asked if I was available on a certain date, only to be told I hadn't made the final selection (or, the third time, never to hear from them again)? Well... they got in touch again today... and I'm definitely filming on 16 July!! Because they'd spoken to me a couple of times before and I'd not made the final selection, this time they showed my video to the producer first and got definite approval before asking me.. so it was a case of, "If you're available on this date we want you!"
Seems I've missed a lot on here today. Josie, I was going to say glad you have a diagnosis at last but from the discussions it sounds as though your Drs aren't really sure what they're doing or what's going on with you? If I were you, I would think about telling them you want to see a specialist... this is why we have a system of GPs (as in General Practitioners - as in, they know a little bit about a lot of conditions) and then hospitals with specialists (as in they specialise in certain conditions/body areas etc). If you're having all these issues to do with your stomach etc then why on *earth* haven't you been referred to the Gastro department at the hospital?! Tell your Dr you want to be referred - you have the right to have that option.
Interesting interview on the GW homepage (thanks to whoever pointed that out). Once again, it seems GW have posted it months after it was recorded (which makes JM and PM's request for fans to watch in the Spring a little pointless.. with only one episode left to air!) but one thing in there did make me a little downhearted:
Because we're airing so late in the fall on Season Four.
Well, I'm shredded and I've another busy day ahead of me tomorrow so I shall bid you all a good night and will chat more later...
*hugs to all*sigpic

Maybe that "late in the fall" comment was because the interview was so long ago. Didn't JM say recently he though it might be before October when the season starts?
Hope your day goes smoothly tomorrow...err later today for you now I guess.sigpic

OT:Spoiler:This is why you need a gastroscopy, so they can SEE what's wrong rather than them guessing...Growl! Typical NHS... pop the pills and hope the cause goes away...ooooh, it makes me soooo mad! If your weight is fine, losing weight would make no difference, sweetie! Actually it didn't make any difference to me anyway, but I'm just a difficult case with an extremely short oesopagus, juat to make life more complicated!
SQUEEEEE! I noticed that too! I like what those two lil ol' show-runners had to say!
Bye Peggy! Not you too? I eat and drink what I'm not supposed to all the time. I love toast, but only have it on special occasions. The booze I'm ok with most of the time, though Sauvignon Blanc REALLY canes! Ouch!!!
OTSpoiler:How the hell do you not qualify? You're in pain, something is wrong with your stomach and you feel ill all the time? What else do you need to have to qualify? Hmmm, I was told when you take proton pump inhibitors you shouldn't really take antacids...there are some great meds out there at the moment, like Nexum (sp?), and you don't need to take that all the time like you do pantoprazole etc... It is more expensive that other types of PPI's, but it's so much better for you. Last time I was on Lanzaprazole I got 2 bouts of food poisoning...so I refuse to go on it now and demand the newer, and more expensive drugs! I don't like your doctor's attitude. How can they know what's going on down there if a) a consultant doesn't see you, and b) they don't have a little looky? Stupid NHS...Growl!!!!sigpic

Originally posted by Salty View PostThat's what I"m doing with SaltyJr - he managed the Wraith just fine last night. No nightmares
Originally posted by Josie View PostI had a horrible Wraith nightmare the other night: I was in this octagonal room it had a console in the centre and four doors all of which were locked, a voice was telling me to stay put that there were Wraith outside in the city but if I stayed in the room I'd be safe as long as they didn't override the locks and that the chances of them being able to do that were really slim but after a few moments the locks on all the doors disengaged and I was frantically looking at the console shouting for someone to help me, to tell me what to do. Then I heard footsteps and just as they reached the outside of the room there was a loud "bang!" and the lights went out.
Thankfully I then woke up but I was really seriously scared. I've been having a lot of nightmares lately but I think that one will stick with me for a while.
The worst nightmare I had (actually when I was about eight years old - long long ago - and running a high fever) was dreaming I was some thug of the Sheriff on Nottingham's and harassing the poor country folks. Then Robin Hood's men showed up, surrounded me with their swords drawn and kicked my butt... You can guess, I was utterly terrified and frantically thought (or might have squeeked) "Hey, I don't want to be one of the bad guys, I'm on your side really". But they didn't pay attention and I couldn't wake up for the life of me.
I know I'm silly
