Sorry that I wasn't here much yesterday, it was too hot to sit at the computer, and the time I did sit at it I read through some LJ posts and watched the two new SGA eps. I didn't like NML that much, Misbegotten was ok, but somehow I'm not really satisfied. Can't really explain why.

You mean you don't want to watch it anymore? Or only the RM scenes?
I'm not at that point yet, until now I still enjoy seeing the team and Atlantis and I manage to ignore the stories a bit, but I fear for the future (some of you know I despite crossovers and if the stories get better - we'll see).

Did you hear that the ratings were bad? Not a good sign.

      Anyway:

The grin you all find so wonderful and which Willow capped? It made me MELT! Awwwww, how sweet was this? And it wasn't just a nice and lovely smile, it was a smile with a meaning, that was even better!

      Spoiler:
It was a knowing smile between Elizabeth and him, saying thanks and you're welcome. He said what he said to help her in an awkward situation, he distracts the others and gives her a way out. That's not only nice, it shows empathy and helpfulness, and showing this so openly is a new character trait for Rodney I think. I liked that. Only a short smile and you already have character development. See, TPTB, it's not that hard!

I guess the McWeir shippers loved this scene.

Oh, and I had a Rodney dream last night! Finally! It took new eps for that!
And what a lovely dream it was, it involved a completely nekkid RM in a bed! Can't say moore here, OT, not PG and wrong thread, but only so much: John was there too.

      Oh read too much fanfic.

      Bye, A.

Lol! How do you watch while ignoring the story? I am giving it until episode 8 to win me over but after that if it hasn't I am just ff to Rodney and enjoying it as pure McKay porn!

Yes they reportably are not good, although if true SGA did better then SG-1 but only just... seems odd given the hype already surrounding it's 200th episode. Speaking of crossovers have you read the blog on SciFi channels site?

        Spoiler for SG-1/SGA seasons 10/3
        Spoiler:
Sheppard and Mitchell discuss McKay! (SG-1 ep next week) Lol I really have to *cough* that ep even if I haven't seen the first two yet, heck I may have to just watch them, I do plan on watching them eventually but well I would like to know what is going on in The Pegasus Project. I wish I still loved Daniel as much as I use to both of my geeks toghether... wow! Pure Thunk lust not crossover love btw.

SGA's been edging out SG1 in the ratings since s1...just look at the ratings summaries on GW.

Yes but they SciFi still gives so much time to the promotion of SG-1 over Atlantis IMO, even Brad and Robert seem more interested in pushing SG-1 before SGA, I think someone said Brad made a reference to accepting SGA would never be as popular as SG-1. Wtf does that mean anyway? If they don't push it of course it won't if they keep saying it is 'just' the sister show, well sure it won't, it will be cancelled before it gets a chance.

              I know...I don't understand it

I can actually understand his comment about it not being as successful as SG1, because historically, Spin-Offs never do as well as original series.

Fraser did way better then Cheers. It all depends on the cast and the scripts... which is why SGA should have had it's own fully supported writers and not ones from SG-1 IMHO.

I mean that I try (don't know if it works so well...) not to think about it too much so that occasional gaps and illogicalness don't bother me so much. I try to enjoy the setting and the characters more. Hope they don't screw them up though.

Funny, I just wrote about that in the Rockett thread. I don't watch SG1 at the moment, but since there are so many crossovers I guess I'll have to watch some eps. I will have to see PP next week, if only for McKay!

I said the same thing to one my friend today. S3 of SGA started better than SG1 IMO but SG1 has still better time and more promotion. I mean, eventually, SG1 ends, the 10th season can possibly be the last one. They should give all their energy into SGA to become much better and make it to run at least 7 seasons. But this...I don´t know how the people in sci-fi think. SGA is new, fresh with potencial and it is still in shadow of SG1. If it is like this whole this year, SG1 will take SGA down as well. And there will be no SG. I can´t imagine my world without SG

And to the spin-off thing...I think it´s not true. Spin-offs can be often much better than original. And the reason that I can´t remember at any in this moment doesn´t make it less true.

"No dictator, no invader, can hold an imprisoned population by the force of arms forever. There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. Against that power governments, and tyrants, and armies can not stand." - G´Kar, Babylon 5

what about holby city and casultry. I've been a fan of sg1 from the first time it was aired in the UK, but i've started to get more excited over SGA.

I didn't mind the first 2 eps, but they weren't the best ever. you've got to remember that sateda is going to be a BIG ep so they properly decided to try and save some money for that ep.

Just watched Joe's Wedding, brilliant film even if David wasn't in it, that just tops the list though. David was so brilliant in it, just wish there was more of him. OMG the bathroom scene!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also the food looks the same to me, his sandwich (No I can believe I am having this discussion either!) is lying down on his tray in the same way in both shots.
Ok I watched this ep again last night and have a fresh perspective on the scene in question. I think you're right about how cameras can be deceiving. Now I'm leaning more towards the idea that it's a candid shot from NML.

                                I have an important question!!!

I know some of the people here in this thread aren't comfortable discussing David's private life. That's absolutely ok and understandable, but I have a question and maybe there are people here who'd like to discuss this or have answers, so I put it in tags and please only read it if you don't have a problem with a (decent) question about his real life!

                                Spoiler:
I just read on LJ in a report from the Comic Con that DH is married to Jane now! I have no idea if this is true or just something the author of this report came up with. If it happened, when did it happen? Has it been mentioned somewhere lately, in an interview, commentary or even just on this con? Does anyone know more about this? I'm so curious, I really like Jane and I'd wish both of them all the best if this is true!
