The hug said it all. The look on his face, only confirmed what we sparkies have felt all along - I think (imo) that's when John came to realize what she means to him. I think before then, there were flirting. But this moment is when it solidifies it for Shep. I think he felt a connection to her before this, but this moment in time -- it was almost like a slap in the face wake-up call for him.

So fellow sparky's, just so you know, there are John/Elizabeth supporters all over the world, even down here in cold Melbourne, Australia. I have been lurking for a while and totally support you guys. How can they even think of getting rid of Elizabeth for goodness sakes. If enough people make noise about this someone has to hear eventually. After all without the fans there is now show at the end of the day.

Welcome. We've got quite a few Australians around here. Alyssa comes to mind, and Ronnikins used to spend quite a lot of time here also. Australia definitely leans toward Sparky.

They are so obvious. Nobody will ever on earth convince me that Sparky is only in our heads. I could dig out gazillion of pictures and moments like this. Few months ago I analyzed the Siege hug too... *is off to find that post*

I loved the hug scene in The Siege. I thought, WOW, that's something that tells a lot.
It wasn't only the hug itself that surprised me, but the look on his face, it was amazing;
how it changed from puzzled, confused, 'I don't believe it, it's odd' to something deep and dear as if he thought 'God, she's too precious to me to believe she's in my arms'.

That's what I like, subtle and deep. Good job, Joe, good acting!

in 'Submersion' John is the one that splits the group into teams, he takes Elizabeth with him. Because he wanted to protect her, more than anybody else and he couldn't trust Ronnon to do it better than him? Was he only behaving as the responsible military man?
Because I think Ronon would be a better guard, but not more caring than John. Maybe it was only a strategic decision, but I want to see more than this.
