So this is what he has to say regarding Elizabeth's office:

The layout didn’t really change despite the changes in command although the set dec was a little different. Whereas Elizabeth’s tastes ran to the artistic (ie. Athosian statuettes), Carter added a more personal touch in the various photos that lined the back wall. Woolsey’s office was a little more austere, but he did include a personal touch with the photo of his beloved yorkie, lost to his wife in the divorce.

There are two things that really piss me off about this comment. First, his neglect to remember (not that anyone here is surprised, right?) that Elizabeth had her own "personal touch" in her office. In addition to various artifacts, Elizabeth also kept the Athosian jar John gave her (and this counts as a personal belonging in my mind, because it was a special gift from a very good friend) and occasionally her father's silver pocket watch on her desk. Like Woolsey, she also kept a photo of her dog on her desk. By neglecting to mention all this, Mallozzi is dismissing the emotional and vulnerable human side to Elizabeth.

And I honestly don't remember how the office changed when Carter came in, but seriously, "photos that lined that back wall"?! Did Carter really just saunter in and make herself at home so soon after her predecessor was left in enemy hands?

I have nothing more to say.

You made me realize that I'm so accustomed to Mallozzi being .... Mallozzi (see what I did there? ), that never even dawned on me. But you're right. I think Elizabeth's office decor showed how much she belonged in Atlantis and Pegasus, more than her successors did.

I’m going to stop by a little later again because I have to go and start putting together my brothers new IKEA desk. Hopefully me being Swedish that it’s somehow in my genes and it will work out.

I agree. Although that means I'll really have to work on keeping my snark down a little for Reunion. Oh, and Doppelganger. Really, the whole rest of the series will be an exercise in restraint for me.

Let me summarize: Sam acts annoying, Rodney acts annoying, some boring Satedan stuff, bad job at masking Rachel's pregnancy, more Sam acts annoying.

Here's a question I've been wondering about a little. Do you guys have any favorite deleted scenes? Or anything from them you wish had been included in the final cut?

Some of them are obviously better off not being in the finished product, but I remember there were a couple from Season 4 that I remember liking so much I actually forgot they weren't in the episodes.

One was in Reunion, where there was a slight extension of Ronon's scene with Sam in his room. He mentions some of the paintings on his wall and how they depict scenes from Satedan history. I thought it made his culture seem just a little bit more real, rather than "Yeah this guy is from some place called Sateda."

Another I think was from Kindred, where Caldwell has a scene with Sheppard on the Daedalus where he mentions the effects of destroying the Intergalactic Gatebridge and tries to reassure him they they'll find Teyla. I thought it was a nice to see more of an example of their sort of friendship that developed over time.

I haven’t seen many of the deleted scenes and don’t know much about the scenes that were filmed but never shown but I agree with people that I would have loved the scene in ‘remnants’. Other than that I have to say that I do feel that there are scenes that could have been added here and there but since they were never filmed or written at all then I don’t know anything specific about it.

Well, I was originally going to write a piece for another ship, but then I decided, why not throw some sparky in too? Don't get me wrong, it's a million miles away from completion. But it's a concept. A half mind-mapped concept.

Okay, so Atlantis is on Earth, and there's basically a meeting, some SG-1 interaction, and a fishing trip between Sam and Jack is organised. Then it switches to Atlantis, John is requesting a search and rescue for Liz, but McKay comes storming in, clearly unhappy that he's being forced to shut down most of his equipment. While McKay's ranting, John steals a jumper, and flies away. From there, the IOA interfere, people rebel, and the SG-1 cast meet up with the SGA cast. I'm not sure of any of the details after that but I have one thing I do want to do. I want an alien lab of some kind to be found, containing stasis pods of several dead/missing characters. It'll look and sound better on paper, I'm aware that it might sound kind of...bad put like this.

In my head, it's a series, so it'll probably be the first of three, or more. I have a small thing, that happens even with my original fiction - I will write one-off books/fiction, a trilogy, or a series of more, but never two books.

I can PM you pics of the mind map I've mapped it out on later, when I manage to add in the notes I made yesterday. Usually, I mind map in a book, but I have a new software on my iPad for it. So I can do some screenshots if you like and send them to you. Obviously, it won't have everything in my head on there. By that, I mean every idea I have for the story. If everything in my head was on paper, there'd be a 'read at own risk' sign on it.

I was always a big fan of how Elizabeth kept her office, it was very simple but still very her and I do have the feeling that if I were a member of the expedition then I would feel very comfortable entering it, like even if it’s the leaders office the leader doesn’t put him or her so far above you that you would do anything to avoid going there. I think that the fact that Elizabeth kept the doors open at all times really helped create a comfortable atmosphere.
Now there’s nothing wrong with Carter’s or Woolsey’s office but I do feel that they, like many have said, were very different and much less accessible for the rest of the expedition, kind of like a principles office, you go there when you have to but try and avoid it others vise.

There’s actually one scene especially that shows this for me and that’s the scene in “Quarintine” when Carter and Zelenka get stuck in one of the transporters together and how uncomfortable Zelenka was and how unsure he was as to wether he should wait until Carter got to her destination before going any futher and then comparing it to say the Elizabeth/Radek scene in ‘The Brotherhood’ or even the scene in ‘The Intruder’ when they return to Atlantis and Radek shows up and you can see that he’s just very comfortable being around her (even to the extent that he might have a bit of a crush on her), now this all depends on the characters but sometimes you need to look at the people who are not the lead. Ok, this was really OT but my mind kept wandering.

Now, I have a very serious question. I am up-to-date with Atlantis: Rising but where is the next episode? I am totally hooked now, though it took me a while to warm to it. Also, why can I not register with the site?

I ask the same question. When will we be able to finally read the next chapter?

Regarding Atlantis Rising, they're currently working on the next episode, though I thinkSouthern Red has said that it's going to be a couple of months before it comes out.

The set dec changed completely. None of the “other offices” resembles Elizabeth’s office.

True. He is totally neglecting Elizabeth. It only shows he really didn’t care for Elizabeth’s character at all.
I think that Elizabeth felt that Atlantis and the Pegasus Galaxy were now her home, so she much preferred to show items from there than from Earth, she felt now more connected to them, since she no longer considered Earth as her home anymore.

I agree with your observation and I think this contradicts the idea that Carter had already been accepted as the new leader of the expedition.
