Elizabeth Weir/John Sheppard Appreciation/Ship/Discussion Thread
And I... am still reeling from the full Iron Man 3 trailer. OMFGWTFBBQWHYISN'TITMAY2013YET.

Sparky is on screen. Therefore, it is canon.Elizabeth is still out there. And John WILL bring her home.
I've only just seen Iron Man I & II... so basically I can easily work up the patience for III.
Lucky! At the moment, I'm alternating between cackling in glee at the clips in the trailer and yelling at my calendar to hurry up.

And also not canon because they were never approved by the showrunners/writers of the show. When asked, they've specifically said that they ignored the novels while they were filming the show, ostensibly because they didn't want to have to work around anything that came up in the books (I'm not sure, but there may have been legal issues involved as well). As for the books written after the series ended, there's several areas in which they're out of line with what we do know TPTW had been considering for storylines for Season 6.
Whereas
Spoiler:
we've tried to work quite a few of TPTW's ideas (with our own special spin, of course, hahaha) into SGA Rising. Because we're canon-friendly, yo.

Elizabeth is my favorite character on SGA followed by Sheppard and Carson.
That’s my order of favorite characters as well, though I don’t mind the others either (especially McKay, Ronon and Teyla, yay for season 1-3), McKay is especially hard to place because he have his good sides which makes you love him (my favorite moments with him is in ‘First Strike’ and the way he backs Elizabeth, especially when he told Ellis that he wasn’t the one in charged and when he said “Ay Ay Captain” to Elizabeth) those scenes alone made me just love the guy however he did have some less stellar qualities that makes you not like him.
OMG! I nearly passed out when I saw the trailer, it was so amazing and I kept it on repeat so I saw it over and over again.

I can think of a few of those less than stellar qualities. Rodney could be such a pompous a$$ at times... Elizabeth is my favorite, for many reasons.
