Anyway, came by to ask for links to any livejournals that will be posting Sparky spoilers--I have a feeling this place is going to crash tonight lol. And since probably won't fix it, we'll have to find other place to post spoilers!

Less than three hours to go! I'm so excited here, it's not even funny. Once it airs, though, I'm gonna try and be reaaaally good about spoilers and disappear til I get my copy and watch it myself - hopefully very quickly! I've even rented a movie tonight (Kronk's New Groove!) to try and occupy me while I wait.

So many of you have asked where Sparky comes from, and we've told you that it started on Yahoo bc they didn't like name combos and JE had sparks in every scene. Wrong. Well, just a little bit.

Question: What's the real origin of the nickname "Sparky" for Sheppard/Weir?

Answer: "Sparky" was officially created by nostalgia_lj on a Shep/Weir mailing list. There is no significance to it -- not because of "sparks" between the two; not because it first showed up in a fic -- just a totally random name picked out of thin air to avoid the sucktitude of fandom name-smushing, e.g. "Shweir" or "Jizabeth."
