Damn, I knew I should have gone Friday night. But I would have been dangerous on the road as tired as I was.

I waited until the end of the autographs to take the photo so I didn't hold up the autographs or start a stampede of requests to get a photo of him. Paul knows I always try to get a photo for his thunkers and he's always very sweet about it. And the convention staff was very accomodating. It was a pretty mellow vibe all weekend.

I had to get at least one decent photo! I was in the very last row so I could stand up to take photos and not block anyones views. So most of my photos are pretty bad.

I was sad to find that my new expensive digital SLR isn't as good as my cheaper point and shoot! I should have guessed it was going to be the case because the DSLR has a slower lens. The photos are really dark. If I have to buy a DSLR lens to match my point and shoot, that would cost about the same as another DSLR!

That's a bummer. I've seen shots taken with my brand of camera that were sharper and better, but then the lighting was better. Creation really needs to ramp up the lighting but it's probably a hotel thing. I'm glad you did get that one shot of Paul at the table as it's precious.

What I like about Paul is his eyes, they're soo deep. And besides he seems such a sweet guy from all the videos that I've seen from conventions. And jsut look at him on that pictures Watcher posted. How can you not like that guy?
And the dimples and the accent are just the icing on the cake.

When do we start sending the presents/packages? I mean, since it's by mail and the post offices are probably going to be overloaded with packages in time before the holidays, so I'm thinking of sending it a bit early.
Is two weeks before the holidays too early? I don't want to spoil the Christmas spirit by sending it to soon or too late. Gosh, I'm complicating things.

I'm going to get off topicish for a moment and ask for somebody here to please explain something.

What the heck is so great about Paul's (Bekcett?) Scottish accent?

Before I say anything else I'm going to point out that I am Scottish and have heard the accent every day of my life and I genuinely don't get it and I think his own accent is much sexier. I mean I love Paul McGillion and Beckett but I have to say Beckett's accent is not what I find compelling about either Paul or Beckett. (For a start the accent was ropey in Season 1 - got very good by the end of season 3 though). So please help a poor confused Scot and explain what I've very obviously missed the rest of my life????

I agree with Twinny. As a non native speaker, even english is interesting for me, but with a special accent, especially with Paul's voice...hmmm.

Nodded about all the things you said about PM. He really leaves the impression of being a genuinely nice guy all around! This makes me even more willing to do everything possible and impossible to get him back on Atlantis permanently. I don't think I'd put this much dedication into the campaign if I wasn't convinced Paul McGillion deserved this as much as the character of Carson Beckett.

Well that depends...

on where your Secret Santa Buddy lives. If say she lived overseas, two weeks would be a bit late even without the Xmas stress. Everytime I sent something to the US or Canada, it took 9 to 15 days with airmail on any occasion. While two weeks would certainly be enough within the same continent.

But also keep in mind, that we usually know what the package/letter we receive from some unknown address is supposed to be, therefore everybody should be smart enough not to open it prematurely if it arrives early. And to be honest, I think it arriving a tad bit early is better than having to wait till way after Christmas if the package arrives late.

Just my opinion though.

I'm still struggling a bit about whether I want to register on yet another forum for that. On the other hand I realize that this very forum is quite important and could really make a difference, even beside the daily eMails I send in.

Maybe I'll recycle some posts from the PRO Beckett thread and let them all know what I think.

And again.... I agre completely. I haven't met the guy, but judging from all the fans that have, he seems like a really great and classy guy. Carson is a great character and I couldn't imagine anyone else playing it than Paul.
