Add me to the list of people who are liking Keller so far. She seems capable and is a nice person. I liked Beckett, but I have no problem with Keller. I'm looking forward to seeing how she develops friendships or antagonisms with other characters.

*Looks around* Nope no thread. I figure since everyone else got one Keller needs one too. I love both Carson and Keller but have really fallen for her. She has done a great job so far and I'd hate for her to end up like Jonas. I'd love to have both but not at the expense of the other. So this thread is to support Keller staying on.

I do think Keller is a good character, one who has the potential to step up and fill carson's shoes. However, I do think the show can accomodate both her and Beckett. They were able to do it with Zelenka and Mckay; why not the medical doctors?

I'm a huge fan of Dr. Keller and Jewel Staite in general. LOVED Firefly/Serenity and was so happy to hear she was coming to Atlantis. Don't get me wrong Carson was one of my favorite characters (gotta love that accent) but I know he's coming back for a few eps so that helps some. If only there was a way for everyone (Beckett/Keller, Weir/Carter, Ford/Ronon) to be on Atlantis at the same time. Ah well, change is a part of life, just gotta go with it and see where it takes ya.

They will just have to set up an A plot for Beckett, he isn't returning to be a doctor but something greater.

Agreed. If they decide to have Keller and Carson in season 5 they can do several different things. They could have Carson be chief surgeon or something and have keller remain as CMO. Or they can do the flip side.

I think Carson would made a better leader to the doctors, he's got a little more experience than Keller....and he's soo cute.

A big problem with medicine on both SG shows is that the one doctor is multifaceted (I hate that term, as it's SOOOO overused). Beckett came on board but was hinted at being in research, then he was a surgeon, then, well, it continued. I mean, Keller is cracking open Weir's head, which I believe is more or less neurosurgery. What is needed is specialists - you need a surgeon (preferably with battle experience - like Iraq, etc.), internist, etc. etc. I realize that the expedition is made up of bright people but you know, having another doctor around would be nice. Well, except for biro, and you don't want her checking on you since she's the pathologist

By the way I agree with you, but there would be tooit much face on the show, and the show comes first, not what would be logical...it's sad, but that's the truth. I'm sure they have many specialist in the expedition, just don't show them on screen, and all the significant acts must done by the main characters, though in real life wouldn't be that case.

Keller can also be Ronan's love interest...they got chemistry in a way.
