Sorry, I thought a lot of her Q&A from Shore Leave & Comic Con & other recent appearances had been posted around lately. I'll go see if I can drum some of it up for ya.

But, yea, I'm thinking of when I heard her ~ I haven't really watched any of the vids.

I've seen some of them & they were really interesting. But I can't really remember much about them. Too much to remember in real life I suppose - dentist appointments, vet appointments, tax forms, bills...

Since I don't really know Jewel, even though like many I wish I did, it's kinda hard to decide whether a character and actor are alike. However from what I've seen and heard it sounds like she's a sweetie just like Keller is.

Jewel seems very at ease when she's doing interviews and conventions. That's part of her job. Keller's very good at being a doctor. The only difference might be the confidence issue, which seems like it might be getting alittle better this season. Hopefully. So they might not be as different as people would think. Lets hope that made any sense.

I agree. I think Jewel seems very at ease and very ingratiating to fans. I hope Jewel's confidence begins to show through in Keller a bit more. I like the fact that she's new to Atlantis & I think as Jewel is more at home behind the scenes that it will flow over naturally as Keller becomes more and more involved with the rest of the team this season.

Kaylee had a sunny disposition. Keller does as well, but it's less naive and has a bit more wit to it.

1. A lot of people compare Kaylee and Keller (some in a good way, some more negatively).
2. Jewel and TPTB have said in various appearances/interviews/etc that in s4 they'd been getting to know Jewel and fitting Keller into SGA. Also that they feel they're putting more Jewel into Keller this season.

How alike are the two characters?
How different?
How much do you think Jewel brings of herself to one, the other, or both?
And, most importantly, how do you think any of this will impact Jewel's portrayal of Keller in s5?

Great pics of Jewel! She's got such a sweet, happy smile!

I'm glad that they're going to put more of Jewel into Keller for season 5. We've already seen a little big of Jewel's more relaxed personality surface here and there, like in Trio, and just here and there. We've seen little snips, but not too much to completely change her character. I'm excited to see her in Brain Storm because we'll get to see her away from work, at a party in a darling outfit, and relaxed.

I remember a short Q&A Jewel did at Comic-con last year, that I saw on Youtube, where she says that Keller is the character she has the most similarities to that she's played in her career. I think she also mentioned in another Q&A on scifi.com that she thinks Keller and Kaylee are worlds apart as characters.

I think now that Jewel has had a year to get comfortable on the show and the writers have gotten to know her better, they'll probably write Keller with more of Jewel's personality and take advantage of those similarities Jewel sees between herself and the character.
