We wandered around a shopping mall and talked about how we geek out on online forums And then we spent some time freaking out over sci-fi magazines in the bookstore...she was freaking out about Dr. Who and I was freaking out over Stargate and Sanctuary. And repeatedly saying that SGU is terrible.

          So yeah, it was fun

It does sound like fun Mimz. You should get your friend to come on here.

                An on-topic pic!

Does anyone know what the viewing figures are for Fridays SGU episode. I can't find them anywhere.

And the viewer numbers are in!

                  Brad Wright, Martin Gero.

That concludes the list of viewers

                    Rant coming up ladies

                    Spoiler:
So i went to the hospital this afternoon to get my thumb looked at again. i have haemophilia A for those of you who didn't know. A bleeding disorder (look it up) i have a mild form of it, but to be honest any form of it isn't great. I have never had injections of clotting agents (factor 8) in my life, im rather lucky. But i have been concerned with my thumb, and the possibility that there has been some small bleeds in the joints on my thumb. Now i went to the hospital, since they told me to come back if i had concerns. so i sat down with a side splitting headache, and proceeded to give my backside sitting exercise for the next 4hours waiting to be seen. i was low priority, and they had a number of emergencies which came in, which is cool, im a pretty patient person.

So i finally got called through, and the doctor spent about 5 min looking at it and told me to continue taking tablets for it (which i wasn't because i saw little need because they were not doing anything for it). I cannot take asprin, ibeprofen etc, anything that is going to thin the blood. Which would be the first treatment they would do in my case. So i left the hospital with no new understanding of why i was getting pain etc, just that it would take time. I was hoping to see my specialist, or any in that field, but no. So yeah thats my rant

LOL. And that's double the amount from the week before.

I feel for you. Sounds like A&E Departments here - staffed by junior doctors fresh from medical school.

Do you have another appointment with your specialist or at a Fracture Clinic? I'm not sure if things are run the same here as in Oz, but if it were me I'd get on the phone to the specialist's secretary. Emphasise that you are a haemophiliac and ask to be seen sooner.

I do know that sprain and strains can be even more painful and the symptoms can last longer than fractures but it is still probably worth getting it looked at.

Well yeah, one of my best mates has haemophilia worse than me (small world, his was mutation, mine was just genetic) and he always needs treatment, so in the morning i am going to ask him what he does when he needs to see someone. See ive never had to go through that process (according to my specialist, im boring because i don't need anything much, hes a good bloke)

She said, can you touch all your other fingers, i showed her, i can. But i said, yeah it hurts when any pressure is on the thumb. Well take some pain tablets. Look there isn't much swelling, which is good, but it still hurts, i can barely turn door handles, or pick up anything heavier that a newspaper with my left hand. 3 weeks on from the accident, i would think i could do more. And put it this way, im not one to complain about pain, i have a threshold, but when it doesn't get significantly better, i begin to question what is going on, and rightly so

I imagine the numbers for the viewing will come out sometime today. That's when they usually do.

                          Love that pic! Wow!

To treat myself to this past long weekend - we had our county fair (boring) - I watched Quarantine and Midway last night. *sigh* I just don't know how I forced myself to do that!

BB, do you have to go through a general practicioner to see the specialist? I would think that you - and any hemopheliac (sp?) - would have pretty much an open door to those specialists. I mean, come on! Seriously? I'm hoping you get feeling better.

Well yes, but only if i had walked into the building leaving a trail of blood on the floor (one of my brothers did that (he has haemophilia too)) or i walked in with a head injury, or an ankle or knee the size of a basketball. Since there was not alot of swelling, and no major issues, its not a serious case. Because i have only a mild form (which i might add, is still pretty bad) they will always tend to be more cautious with me. as they don't want to be handing out treatments when i don't really need them.

All i wanted was an opinion by a specialist who would have been on ward. then i would have been happy. but i got stuck with a lovely grad, who although nice, didn't seem to grasp how i felt about it

Seriously! How much effort would a phone call be? Even if the specialist wasn't on the floor, how about a consult?

Yeah i know, its frustrating. But i wasn't going to say something stupid. When i walked out of the hospital, i called mum to tell her what had transpired. i think she copped my headache/annoyance. as only a mother can, she calmed me down
