Hey, mel I've got the next chapter ready, but it doesn't look like much

Nope. I usually give every draft a day or two time to settle down and give me a little mental distance before I proofread it another time. That makes it easier to spot mistakes I didn't see while writing the draft (because I usually do this between 1 and 3 am... not te best time of day for orthographically and grammatically correct writing ) and add some content I felt has been lacking up to this point.

I can definately vouch for that! My ideas usually come to me really really late at night when I'm trying to sleep. However with my work schedule... there really isn't anything that I can do to help those ideas progress. I just try to remember the ideas the next day and write them down.

I wish they wouldn't Because it usually means they come shortly after shutting off the laptop, in the middle of a meeting, on the train (where writing them down is near to impossible, because my handwriting is already nearly indecipherable under the best of conditions )... and I practically have to tie them down to stay in my head long enough

That they do, Melfan, that they do! *sighs* mine come in the middle of the night usually, so I keep a pad and pen nearby to jot them down because I've found as soon as I move for the laptop they tend to vanish.
