I'm really excited to see the show tonight and so is my wife, it's always more fun when we both like a show. I'm going to make a true nerd out of her yet!

I guess, in the us, it's Josh (George) Aiden (whatever his name was) and Sally (Annie)

It has jumped right into setting up the show, but I feel like after 35 minutes I have a pretty good idea where they basic struggles and characters are, some funny moments too! For a show with only 13 episodes in a season moving quick is good.

well, the bbc version only had 6 per season
so even if they are copying the bbc's stories, they'll run out soon

i do remember some parallels, such as Herak/Bishop helping with Aiden's situation

they do seem to have done some casting based on the appearance of the BBC actors

I wonder why Aiden didn't move somewhere else if he wanted to make a fresh start.

HOnestly, i'm not sure if it's good or bad to be copying so much. those that haven't seen it won't know any different, but those that have will compare the two executions

Yeah it was a nice cliffhanger to leave us on, for a 1 hour pilot episode I think it did pretty well...was all that stuff it showed at the end for next episode or just later this season in general?

in fact, most of the bbc's first season

IIRC a lot of stuff happens in the bbc s1 that cements the 'we gotta stick together' attitude of the three.

and the sally episode

where she runs into the ghost, he teaches her how to interact with the world, which is vital to what happens to her in season two, and allows her to do more than mope around the house

One thing that wasn't shown in the promos was an arc in bbc1,

I think it is worth the watch, I've never seen the BBC version and don't plan on it so I'm not comparing.

i've seen them all but it's been a year or so, so i just have memories to go on.

i'll tape it next week. my biggest issue at the moment....seriously all of a sudden mondays is full of shows to watch

however given the choice between this or The Cape, Being Human wins hands down.

Agreed, good thing about The Cape is it comes on Hulu so I can easily watch it there.
