First story to suggest that the Daleks have the ability to levitate when one Dalek rises from sand and another is seen on the upper deck of an 18th century sailing ship.
This story was the first pseudo-historical: a historical story with science-fiction elements other than the presence of the regular characters and the TARDIS.
