"Classic Series" Writer to Contribute Script for Series 10
Sunday, 09 October, 2016 - Reported by Marcus
http://www.doctorwhonews.net/2016/10...ontribute.html
Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat has confirmed that a scriptwriter from the "classic series" of the programme will pen a script for the upcoming series.
This will be the first time a writer from the "original series", which ran from 1963 to 1989, will contribute to the "revived series", launched in 2005. One director, Graeme Harper, has contributed to both runs, helming episodes in 1984 and 1985, and from 2006 to 2009.
Moffat announced the news at a panel at New York Comic-Con, and confirmed it in an interview with Comic Book Resources.
There is no confirmation yet as to whom the writer will be.
Other writers already confirmed for the upcoming series include Frank Cottrell-Boyce, who wrote the 2014 story In The Forest Of The Night, Sarah Dollard, who wrote last years Face the Raven, vintage contributor Mark Gatiss and newcomer to Who Mike Bartlett, best known for Doctor Foster.
Series 10 is due for transmission in the spring of 2017. Full details, as they are released, can be found in the Doctor Who Guide

Kind of hope it's Ben Aaronovitch.sigpic
Long before you and I were born, others beat these benches with their empty cups,
To the night and its stars, to the here and now with who we are.
Another sunrise with my sad captains, with who I choose to lose my mind,
And if it's all we only pass this way but once, what a perfect waste of time.

It's a great shame that Robert Holmes and Douglas Adams aren't still alive today because they'd be great writing for Peter too. But I'm sure that whoever it is will do wondrous things for the Doctor, Bill, and Nardole.
However, at that point, he might not have been asked to contribute.sigpic

I'd like to meet Mr. Aaronovitch and thank him for writing something similar to the words "Dalek elevates upstairs" because back in 1988 a certain 7-year old fan was laying out in front of the TV and had his jaw dropping and eyes popping out of his skull at the sight...and I dare say I wasn't the only one with that reaction.
