Torchwood Episode Discussion (Spoilers for all eps aired in the UK)
Despite popular belief (or perhpas our own wishful thinking), women aren';t that differnet from men?
Nah-uh. Some women. For a very long time the opinion was that all men were basically sex mad pigs and that women were gentle and quiet and... innocent. Now people are beginning to stop thinking of these traits in men as being piggish because it is accepted women to have them. But what is forgotten all too quickly is that there are still men AND women who dont have these traits. There are still women who go "oh god..." when a man expresses a desire for porn, and there are men who do not express this desire at all. It's a balance.
I have a friend who tries to convince me that all women are like all men. He is convinced all men are just naturally sex crazed and so are women even if they pretend not to be. It varies.

Well, since not all men are like all men, I don't imagine how can all women be like all men. Stereotypes are so much fun! (sigh)
Pinky, are you thinking what I'm thinking?
Yes, I am!

Yesterday’s Torchwood/BBC America panel was only slightly less rambunctious than the Jekyll session when writer-creator Steven Moffat cheerfully slagged NBC over the American version of Coupling. John Barrowman, the Torchwood lead, seemed to relax as the panel progressed.
A spin-off of the enormously popular British Dr. Who series, Torchwood is part sci fi, part crime thriller. The earth-based series follows the exploits of a Cardiff, Wales crime fighting unit that battles sewer-dwelling aliens. Barrowman plays Captain Jack Harkness, a cheeky character on Who that takes a serious turn on Torchwood.
“In Torchwood, Jack is the leader,” Barrowman pointed out, “Everyone follows him, so it's played very differently that way. It’s a little darker. He doesn’t want everybody to know -- like how much do you really know about your own bosses? Do you know what I mean. It’s that kind of attitude that he has, and he wants to keep things a little aloof with the team.”
TBH, this piece should be read just for Moffat's comments on NBC. Not surprised one bit - and it's great that finally there's someone professional who confirms quite a lot of what people are saying here and can say it out loud without fearing reprecussions (hooray!).

"You don't know the exact date when Jack returned yet," Barrowman said. "We do know he was left on Satellite Five [at the end of season one of Doctor Who]. He was brought back to life. He then came back to Earth and arrived back in another time and had to live through it to get to the point where the Doctor came back. In [season] two of Torchwood, there's some of that revealed."
In his performance, Barrowman is also now bearing in mind an intriguing new piece of information about the character, which was slipped into the end of the recent third season of Doctor Who (currently airing on the SCI FI Channel). He couldn't talk about the twist in specifics, but he did say that it came as a shock, not only to him, but also to co-star David Tennant, who plays the Doctor

Spoiler:
I'm expecting the shock is that he's the Face of Boe... right?
New John Barrowman interview- talking about James Marsters guest appearence among other things, and did anyone else know that he had been up for the role of Apollo on BSG?
Who else caught JB guest hosting on "The Friday Night Project"?
sigpic Long before you and I were born, others beat these benches with their empty cups,
To the night and its stars, to the here and now with who we are.
Another sunrise with my sad captains, with who I choose to lose my mind,
And if it's all we only pass this way but once, what a perfect waste of time.

I did! He was hilarious and as outrageous as ever Nice to see a clip of them filming Torchwood S2 with a certain guest star, and OMG JB showed his backside, although you couldn't really see much onscreen

Spoiler:
Although, judging by the time this must have been shot, also as they mentioned the filming of Voyage of the Damned.... didn't they finish JM's episode ages ago? What was he still doing there?
Oh, and the questions put to John were hilariuos, too. *cough*

David Tennant certainly made me choke on my drink with his question for John:
Spoiler:
"Me, Alan and Justin - ____, shoot and marry?
Spoiler:
Wasn't it "shag, dump, or throw off a cliff"?
Don't ask me which was which, I don't remember.
