    I really hope not.

Also, wrong part of the galaxy for it to be the Borg...

I’d like that too. I don’t mind too much so far because on Discovery we’ve only really seen officer roles like Bridge crew and science officers, but an NCO would be nice. I mean technically you could class Burnham as enlisted in season 1 with her being classed as Specialist. But she wasn’t allowed to wear the Delta which is more indicative of merely a civilian contractor or similar.

Then disappeared forwards or backwards in time or they will be sent far away with a remote spore drive to an other part or quadrant of the galaxy where the crew of Discovery believe they can't hurt anyone. But then they return even stronger as the Borg...

Agreed. I like the control storyline for what it means for Starfleet computers. It helps explain why the computer in TOS isn’t as advanced as it oterwise should be and why networked computers don’t seem to be a thing. Even ten years after an event like Control I can see starfleet still trying to deal with the after effects of the situation.

I really don’t see much that’s Borg like about control either. The Borg don’t want to destroy sentient life. They want to incorporate it into themselves. In some ways the Borg value sentience above all else. It’s merely free will they aren’t too keen on. The main thing that we’ve seen that makes people compare them to the Borg is the apparent injection of nanobots to control others. But as Control described it with Lieutenant Gant, it does take over a persons body, it recreates it and mimics it using its nanotech. Those nanobots are no where near as sophisticated and Borg Nanoprobes too. Nanoprobes can enter and control living cells, whereas the nanobots control uses are clearly the size of multi-cellular organisms, even close to insect size.

Okay, it was just a wild idea. I don't know too much about the Borg as I have seen only the Nemesis movie. Oops.

How many episodes will be in the second season? 13, 14 or 15? Because then only 1, 2 or 3 episodes have left for the season finale. I don't know what will be the outcome, just I had this idea that they will lure away the Controll in space with the spore drive where it can not harm the locals for a while.

They're from the far side of the galaxy in the Delta Quadrant -- like 60-70 years away at maximum warp. And you're far from the only one making the observation, I've seen lots of it over the last few weeks

Season 2 is 14 episodes, so there are only two left this year.

            Thanks.

If they use the spore drive they can lure away the Controll with the sphere, so they can give themselves a few decaded until they could return. So that is the reason I believed that if the story progress to Borg revelation, then they could still "postpone" their arrival a bit later.

I thought the Borg predated the Federation? Besides, the borg wouldn't destroy all sentient life, they'd just assimilate it. And Control has yet to tell anyone that resistance is futile.

By a significant margin! In "Q Who," Q tells Picard that the Borg began evolving into cybernetic beings "thousands of centuries ago."

I have seen a little clickbait video what if Tilly will be the Borg Queen?! Hmmm.... It would be a nice idea, but then it would mean she is written out.

It would also make no narrative sense since Tilly has been largely absent over the last few episodes. I mean she has been there but she's had no arc of her own.

...and also no narrative sense because this is both the wrong time and wrong part of the galaxy to be the Borg

True... buuut time travel. They could get away with explaining it. It just wouldn't be a good story.

I can get why people might have initially thought Borg when Leland got taken over by control. But it is something that wouldn't really work. Enterprise did a Borg episode and it was... quite well done really. Good as a one off. But you'd never want another. Borg are otherwise highly overrated.

*throws down* Sir, I challenge you to a duel. Pistols in the town square at dawn!

I have warmed a bit to Enterprise in recent years, I don't despise it quite so vehemently as I once did. But I still refuse to acknowledge that episode's very existence

Lol! Well I mean, it’s still not that great. But I mean if you absolutely had no choice but to do a Borg episode (cos I’m pretty sure that Rick Berman did essentially give the ENT writers no choice) then it’s about as good as it could be. It was reasonably tense. It scaled the Borg down in the sense that they were working with 22nd Century tech which is as reasonable an excuse as they can be given. The whole Phlox being assimilated but oh my Denobulans seem to be resistant to assimilation is the only outright stupid thing. Plus as I recall it did a lot to shut up the haters who were going “BUT WE’VE NEVER HEARD OF THIS ENTERPRISE BEFORE.” Because suddenly it became an alternate timeline from First Contact... Which I mean, I hate as a concept just as much as the same sorts of arguments are now being levelled at Discovery...

I’d still rather the episode didn’t exist either, but I’m saying if they were forced to do it, it’s fine... It’s fine... At least it’s still better than Threshold fine.

                                IT’s the lowest bar.

Although, in all honesty the last time I watched through ENT I did enjoy it quite a bit on the whole. But it’s like Voyager. You can see what they intended and you can see what they actually did with it and what they did with it just doesn’t measure up with what they intended.
