Animus made you ship them? WoW, for me it was the first episode that Nikola appeared in so ... season 1 episode 7 - The Five. I know he tried to kill her but for me that was the start.

Animus was goodies for me. I watched 'The Five' and it was the first time I'd seen Nikola on-screen, after my little bit of research. Five minutes later, I was screaming at Helen when she resisted his little (in a manner of speaking ) confession. Little did I realise, that'd be my reaction to the majority of their episodes... Until SFN2.
As for the killing part - he didn't actually do her any harm. Whereas, 'The Alternative' (sounds like a name from 'The Incredibles' ) beat her up in 'Haunted'. I don't hate him but I'm arguing a point here. Let me have double standards for this conversation.

Good to know that I am not the only one. I mean the tension between them, the stolen kiss, Nikola's cheekiness, his confession of love etc. It just all fell into place and that was the episode I knew that they were meant to be together. Polar opposites, fire and ice.

I'll finish making gifs from Pavor Nocturnus soon and plan to move on to a Helen/Nikola centered episode. I've already worked my way through The Five. I'm thinking Animus because it was the episode that made me ship them...

Hmm... That makes you just over five months old... You'll never hear the end of it.
The art was by MissCheerfully/ZouilleTMF/Zoe Magnus. Her art has always amazed me so, when I was pestered by a real life friend to join DeviantArt, I asked her for some pointers. She doesn't know that was what happened, she just knows I'm a fan who's started digitally drawing. I'll find it and share the linkeh.

What's it about?

I've been told it's a collection of horror and suspense stories, by the name of 'The Carvings Collection'. The author was quite polite about it and has a decent fanbase - his own website, a twitter with some followers and accounts on literature websites - so I decided to make space.

I was going to make some awful joke about you being born yesterday...
It was fan art for me... I went to Google Images: 'alright, so who is Helen Magnus'? So I found a drawing from DeviantArt and it was Teslen, of course. Looked up Nikola and decided: 'right, I'm watching this show - or I'll die of suspense at what significance 'Awakening' has and then I won't get to see AT in that role at all. Besides, you've gotta admit, vampires are kinda cool.'

Okay, I didn't actually think the last sentence. I just had to put it in there.

That reminds me of something I saw once. Not entirely Teslen-relevant but it goes with the domesticated-cheesy-couples theme. I was on someone's tumblr (it must have been) and I came across a screencap from 'The Five'. They pointed out that Helen and Druitt had matching outfits (ish) and then said:
'Oh, so they were one of those couples...'

I never shipped Helen/Druitt, but to be honest I was leaning against it until I saw Animus. I didn't like Nikola at all because of what he did to Helen in The Five - sending his zombie vampires after her. But I saw the tension, the awesome chemistry and how much she cared for him - and a new Helen/Nikola shipper was born
