Ares, the video amazingly fits John and Helen. "Change your mind or get lost if you want me to." It seems that John does do that. He will disapprear and stay away from Helen. Is it to protect her? Is it because her rejections of him are heartbreaking? Yet he has to return to her. "I'm nothing without you."

I think when john leaves he wants to protect her from his violence, but at the same time he knows she is strong enough to take what he can dish out. when he comes back to her, it's not because he has to, he is drawn to her. He'll never be free of her, nor does he want to be. Helen is in his blood, in his mind, in his heart. Yes, he loves her deeply and wants to be near her, but Helen is basically all that is left of his former self, his world, the man he was before the monster took hold. She's all he knows, all he wants to know and that keeps him content when he's stable.
