I have seen this before. It is a promotional picture for S2. I guess it is just randomly put together but Nick with a sword sounds good Unless, of course, he doesn´t start fighting with it as a pro right away But I didn´t see a real, big sword in his trailer. I think they gave it there just because it looked cool

That's not shipping, that's whumping .
And yes, of course, you can hurt yourself very fast with a sword - but much faster with a rapier or a floret. And both are in the closet. Well, Nick with sword sounds good to me, especially when he "wears" it on his back like on that pic *thud*. And I surely wouldn't mind seeing him carrying a sword and probably using it (besides, there IS a bi-hander in the trailer. In season1 it always leaned right next to the elephant-gun). But I'm waiting for 12 episodes that he finally would touch one time that damned axe! So, I'm really wondering how long it will take to put him a sword in his hand ...
Besides, I think it's maybe an old promo-poster that wasn't used finally. There's another slogan on it "Embrace the lecacy" instead of "Storytime is over". Maybe TPTB didn't want to go so far during their first planing-process so this one was made, but than they choosed the harder way. Don't know ...

Surely they have, Tumblr is up to date - well, I think right now they are moving to Pinterest. Heck, it took us AGES to even make GrimmPDX aware of LJ! Not to mention NBC, they are mostly ignore other platforms, only take now and then a look at DeviantART.
