Meh. Stargate:Atlantis and Eureka had like 4 million viewers and Defiance only 2.7 million for the premiere. Although with more dvr's that number will go up more for Defiance than it did for the others.

The value of ratings are not constant. They change over time. The 2004 TV market was a lot different. Never mind SGA was on a Friday and summer and Defiance competed all new shows

I can't argue with that. Live tv viewing has been declining for years.

btw imo, and many other peoples, they are NOT spoilers but some backstory that Syfy actually intends for people to look up as they watch.

They really should explain what happened between when the Vortions arrived and the present. It would confuse casual viewers who dont go to the Internet on a daily basis

A very strong series premiere IMO. I will definitely be tuning into this next week. I want this show to succeed very badly. I loved Farscape, and can definitely see some similarities in style. Yep, it is easy to see that Rockne S. O'Bannon is behind this.

Some of it was good, some I wasn't struck on. It has potential though which is why I'll give it time to draw me in.

The premiere drew me in enough to hope that this show succeeds. We need quality science fiction to survive in today's television.
