If you think about the winning bids (so far)...it's in line with what one would pay for season 2.0 and season 2.5 (about $100), minus the extended Pegasus episode and DVD extras.

If the SFC was smart, it could sell the "Emmy" DVD packaging as a special edition. They just have to add another disc for the DVD extras.
I'd like that, and I'd buy it.

Heck, if I can make it until October for the new season then I can wait to determine if there's going to be a complete s2 set.

We're used to waiting for everything up here so it's slowly becoming less and less difficult. Hec, we thought that we wouldn't get season three until January so October seems like tomorrow. So I'm waiting to- crossed fingers on a full release for next christmas.

          I'm waiting.

Though I bet they jerk us around and hold off as long as possible on releasing a complete S2 box set for R1. That's probably why they don't want to say anything. Leave people guessing if the 2.0 & 2.5 set is all there is going to be or will there be one box set. If they announced that "yeah, sure will have a R1 box set" then people would wait to get that instead of the other which means less sales for the other....
          IMO always implied.

Yup, I'm living off the seven episdoes from the season that I have taped and my season one box set (the good thing was that the price on that was lowered $20 when 2.0 came out so I got it cheap- compared to what it had been going at because I was stupid enough not to buy it when it first came out)- hopefully SPACE will re-run the second season before season three starts.

Well, it looks like I'm going to have to take a deep breath and shell out for both US/R1 season two sets for -

                  1) The 'extended version' of Pegasus.

                  2) The full version of Lay Down Your Burdens 2 - because the 60 minute 'international' version (which will probably be broadcast here in NZ) sounds like it's going to be literally nonsensical.

                    From The Globe and Mail:

                    Sci-fi's clash of civilizations

                    by JOSHUA OSTROFF
                    05/06/06

Click on the link to read the entire article

In the months after 9/11, the war on terror was raging - a military offensive in Afghanistan, nuclear plants on alert, a Passover suicide bombing, an armed standoff in Bethlehem and Homeland Security's new colour-coded terrorism scares.

Amid this chaos, the U.S. Sci-Fi Channel announced they were reviving the seventies cult favourite Battlestar Galactica.

The Vancouver-filmed show would still revolve around "a ragtag fugitive fleet." But rather than using global holocaust to launch a George Lucas-style space adventure, as the campy original did, creator Ronald Moore had something deeper in mind. Conceived with ground zero still smouldering, this gritty remake would include no "casino planet."

Having recently concluded its second season on Canada's Space network, the show's intellectually engaging approach has unexpectedly, but deservedly, earned it a Peabody Award. Tonight, the 65th annual event will honour Battlestar with the most prestigious prize in radio and television because of its "parallax considerations of politics, religion, sex, even what it means to be 'human.' " Meanwhile, Time magazine declared Battlestar 2005's best TV show, it made the top-10 lists of the American Film Institute and numerous newspaper critics and an Emmy campaign is currently under way.

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

It would be- I think they'd be insane to try and fit that episode into one hour- especially considering at one point they wanted to make it a two hour episode.

Even Ron Moore on the podcast said that it made no sense in a hour version.

Sorry if I repeat someone, but you sgould watch the last minutes of 2x20 on SciFi Pulse, because there is a little trailer to the Season 3.

Yes - it was in today's Monday edition of the Globe and Mail (Canada's National Newspaper).

site:Click here for the Globe & Mail Article

The article was written by JOSHUA OSTROFF, and is very insightfull and an excellent read. I was wiating to meet with clients at Starbucks when I caught it. For our international readers - the Globe & Mail is a bit right wing (not US-nut job right wing, but you get the idea), and is one of 2 national newspapers produced in Canada.

There is also a view feedback list going on right now which can be found at the bottom of the article.

                            Give it a shot!

there's a smallish spoiler about season three running around in the adama/roslin thread at the moment - you can read it in full here

                                Spoiler:
                                (not my words)

Adm. Adama lying with Pres. Roslin in a cot down on the surface of New Caprica. I don't know what context it's in, but he had her in his arms as if protecting her from something and he shot a concerned look the other way.
