We are getting there, it's just a massive shock to the supply chain and us.
Yeah, some stores are doing that here, despite various discrimination laws, including prohibition of age discrimination. The usual claim is that it gives the old timers first crack at whatever stocks came in overnight.

Suppose I owned a grocery store, and I thought it would be nice to give white males (or some other group) preferential treatment. What would happen? Correct. Quite properly, I'd find myself in court because discrimination is illegal, regardless of the reason.

Even though I am old enough and also qualify for this special treatment via medical conditions that make me more susceptible to CV, I strongly oppose this, just as I oppose preferential treatment for anyone.

The concept of equal treatment demands that no one be given preferential treatment, period. You can't claim to be in favor of equality out of one side of your mouth while giving special treatment to some group out of the other side of perhaps another orifice.

I apologize to the mods and Darren for linking this stuff, but by damn, by jingy, by crikey we all NEED a laugh right now and I'll take the risk of a banning to find it.

How many times do I have to tell you the supply chain doesn't work that way?

You can go on repeating it till I die. Or, until you die, which will give you more time.

It won't matter in the slightest. If you value equal treatment, the minute that you advocate special treatment for any group, you show that you don't really believe in equal treatment for all. You want to pick and choose favorites.

So in other words you are ignoring facts that prove your argument wrong?. Some things never change. These people aren't automatically getting the best products like you aim. It's not special treatment. It's another quarantine measure

so apparently the latest nascent trend in some countries like the US is advising people not to call emergency if you come down with covid - especially so if you've the more serious symptoms - and to stay home & take your chances instead +_+

Plus how do you sterilize those thick rubber gloves? Can they handle being boiled? Microwaved? Although I guess they can be bleached, so that's something.

Same thing about reusable masks. My sister is sewing some out of old linen bed sheets, because those can be boiled repeatedly, but people going around with N95 masks and respirators- how do they sterilize them, I wonder?
it MAY be inconvenient, and uncomfortable, even awkward ,BUT, they are better than nothing.

for the gloves, you can just wash them, with soap and water, those kind of gloves are more durable than the standard surgical gloves, you can use them while painting, washing dishes/clothes ect, you can even use turpentine to clean them as well, hell you can even clean them with gasoline sometimes, you should be careful, what you use, test it out on a small spot on the back of the glove to be sure what you use to clean them, doesn't dissolve them, things like turpentine and gasoline can dissolve them over time so.. yeah just check out the stuff you will use to clean them with , you MAY be able to dilute the turpentine and gasoline with water, to reduce their strength so they will last longer. of course you can also use denatured alcohol or nail polish remover on a cloth just be sure to clean everything you touch with the gloves before you remove them, otherwise the whole thing is pointless.

eh... yes and no, most breads have vitamins added to them, so not really, BUT for protein, and enjoyment, sooo... yeah, I guess it is up to you.

P.S. Should I start hoarding bottle caps?
well in a way YES, my mom and I did this when I was a kid to scare away birds from the plum tree we had in the back yard, we collected can lids and punched a hole in them then tied them to the branches , when the wind blew or a bird landed on a branch they clanged together and scared them away. you may want to try a scare crow first , just see if you can find a pole that can stand alone then tie some old clothes to it and stuff them with old rags, NOT PAPER, straw, plastic bags would REALLY work for stuffing, and see how that does.

heard this today, it is advisable for people to wear masks all day, the virus can spread even when just innocently talking, so to reduce the chance of catching it, or spreading it , it doesn't matter what kind of mask, and just to answer your question, YES I would think that a full face Halloween mask would be better than nothing, even the bandana would be better than nothing. so there is what I heard today.

                      Jelgate is right.
It's not to be preferential it's to keep the most at risk safer. All these measures, at least out here are temporary in order to keep people safe and flatten the curve so the hospitals don't simply just fall over (something the US is going to feel in the next two weeks based on modelling.)
It's an odd time for you top develop a social, nay SOCIALIST conscience...….

Mrs GF is making homemade masks in between working from home. They are double layered cloth with interfacing layers between them in order to create more of a barrier. fully washable and serializable.

Not seen discovery at all, no CBS online. The reviews are mixed. Some really like it, some think it's garbage but you got that with DS-9 and Voyager as well. Trek is like SG in that way, multiple series, different approaches and some just did not like the direction they go in sometimes (my dislike of SGU is WELL documented)
If you can get it, give it a shot, there is rarely any harm in giving something a shot. (unless you are using a gun of course...…....
