well though I am LOATHED to suggest this, there is always the crappy yahoo groups, and also the google groups, I believe that google groups may be the better one to go to if functionality is more important than storage, if storage is more important then it is yahoo groups, around a gig or so, but this neo that got added is god awful, but the files section is a good place to store jpegs,gifs... ect, but you may want to stay away from the photos section.

well a while back they changes the format of their groups, it was just your standard web page lay out, and functionality, nothing too braggy, much like here, though this is a little more flash heavy than that one was, heavy being a relative term, they didn't have it at all, BUT, about a few years ago, they decided to " IMPROVE" yahoo, and they changed over to this infinite scroll thing, or what ever you call it, you know, where you start to scroll down to the page and depending how many things there are on the page, it just keeps going on for ever, the problem is that it just doesn't work all that well, down loading from the photos section, used to be so easy , it was a breeze, now, it is glitchy, maybe you get it, maybe you don't, maybe you you need to try a few times, ect, the photos section just isn't that good, BUT the files section is ok, not as good as it was before, but ok, oh, there is a 10 mb upload limit, nothing can be over 10mesg, but you get storage for about 2gigs, per group per files section.

the they are the programmers that made this crappy interface, they should have left well enough alone.

this should help you out, you don't need to have the group available to the public, it can remain private if you want, also i think you don't need to use your phone number, you could just use another e-mail account, i think.

Oh Ok.....yeah they have F'd up Yahoo in a big way. They made it more "mobile friendly" but honestly it was like taking a step back when they revamped it.
