Princess: Thanks, it's still a little bit alien but I am getting there.
JW: Thank you very much!
I like GIMP; just lookit my new avatar for why I made it in GIMP; always wanted to try making a proper feline photomanip, I am happy with the results

Well, I found a toolkit that makes Gimp have the feel of Photoshop, but still be itself. I'm still playing around with it and getting a feel but I hope to have this mastered before I have to turn in any art for this place or @livejournal.
btw, Princess, do you know how to select multiple layers in Gimp? I've tried every method I can think of but nothing seems to work.

Sadly no; unless you're using Layer Groups {which GIMP supports} I've no clue personally how to do it
What kind of toolkit is it ? G'MIC ?

I figured. Oh, well, just have to do that the hard and long way...
No, it's this toolkit: Gimp 2.8 Photoshop Tweaks by doctormo on DA. It does work, but it is up to you whether or not. I personally find gimp with this toolkit most helpful.

I have a toolkit/plugin for GIMP called G'MIC; it apparently has a recent update but it wont go through apparently a dead link.... oh well it does the job anyhow! A little teaser of something greater behind this link

As there are so few of us around the thread lately we are making the Theme a little different this year. The twelve days will be divided up as follows:
Days 1,2 and 3 – Love
Days 4, 5 and 6 – Peace
Days 7, 8 and 9 – Happy
Days 10, 11 and 12 – Reflections
You can make as many or as few as you wish (or have time for ) for each three-day theme and you can interpret each theme in any way you choose.
Please make your artworks size 680 x 383px, remembering to keep them below the 100kb file size limit and put your name on them. Please send your finished pieces to me as soon as you can so that I can get the Martinmas vid underway early.
I will post for you if you cannot be around - just let me know
Roll up, roll up for the Artwork for All Secret Santa 2016!
Here's how it will work:
1. Sign up on this form! You have until FRIDAY 2nd DECEMBER to do so. If you want to join in, you *must* sign up by this date.
2. We need to know who you are, what fandoms/people/ships/things you like, so that your Secret Santa knows what to make. We also need to know what fandoms you are willing to make stuff for, so that we can pair you up with someone with whom you have at least one fandom in common.
3. Secret Santa allocations will be given out on Saturday 3rd December so that you can get to work. You can make as much as you like, but at a minimum try to make at least one wallpaper or a sig/avi set.
4. PM your gifts to JOSIANE by THURSDAY 22nd DECEMBER! Do not send them directly to your Secret Santa recipient. Josi will distribute all the gifts on Friday 23rd December so that everyone gets them at the same time and in time for Christmas.
5. If for any reason you realise you won't have time to make anything after all, please tell Josi as soon as possible, and at the latest by Friday 16th December so that we can try to find someone else to make a gift so that your recipient doesn't miss out.
I will, but not because you showed me a cat More because I've got so far ahead with my Advents and Martinmas stuff that I'm actually twiddling my thumbs
