Put them in groups and come up with some group projects You know create a poster for the various whatever it is you are teaching. One of my kids teachers did this with famous people and you had to cover over the name of the famous person and not use their name in your other details about the person. You could say he or she and then after they presented their info....the class had to guess who it was

actually, I did read a great idea in an education journal I get - President's in a Bag -put 5 facts/representative information bits into a lunch bag about the President (or other figure, Country, whatever) and explain WHY those are the salient bits. Or what they mean to you. Anyway- they have to do a bit of research
