I'm a complete disaster at languages. No facility whatsoever. I tried desperately to learn Spanish (58% of the population of San Antonio is Latino) my last professor finally told me, "Nola, you have a beautiful accent but your fluency sucks."

I used to think in French. When I took German I had to filter into French and than into English.

Not only do I suck at languages, I can't even do regional accents properly. I've lived in the south for decades and should have a nice drawl. Unfortunately, San Antonio is a military city and as such (and with a large Hispanic population) we get a huge accent variation here. No nice consistent Southern drawl. Oh well.

Maybe I could fake a French accent?
