I see nothing in there that indicates stun weapons have equal range with firearms.

If that was the point I was trying to make, don't you think I would have linked such a site?

Stun weapons at the moment are things like tasers aren't they? Don't they need a wire with a barb on the end?

If only we had proper directed energy stun weapons. On second thought no prolly not a good thing..

Why are police forces across the United States becoming more militarized?

I didn't know of that story.

I also was not aware that police in London do carry guns but not the rest of the UK outside London.

Back to my other question why are police in the USA becoming more and more militarized? That's kind of scary.

the UK has been sliding into a V for Vendetta state ever since the days Tony Bliar that's common knowledge now

Ok, I know that the tinfoil hat comments will be forthcoming, but you're right, the police in the US have been becoming more heavily armed and aggressive as of late.
At the same time, attacks on the 2nd amendment have been increasing, along with a general increase in government intrusion into our lives.
This isn't just the current administration either, it's been going on for a while. Often under the banner of "security", "Anti Terrorisim" and whatnot.

It makes sense IF there is a hidden plot afoot to convert the US into some sort of police or authoritarian regime.

Our regular police patrolling the streets and such dont have guns. You wont come up against any firearms getting stopped in the street, pulled over or at arrests (even violent ones). We do have armed response units that are called when firearms and things are reported or suspected. You will also find those guys (and this is where the London thing comes in more than most) at high security places like downing street, parliment or Buckingham palace. You'll also find them escorting high security prisoners. I live near a maximum security prison and have seen the armed police come into the hospital i work at numerous times when they bring category A prisoners in.

Now why would this work in this country but say not here in Australia where our PM thinks coal is good for humanity. He was quoted as saying that. I even saw the speech on TV where that line of utter stupid came out.

If a country like the Netherlands can do this why can't we?
