Such as pushing stories about death panels and waiting lines and extortionate costs that hard-working tax paying 'Muricans will have to pay for. The funniest (if that's the right word) was probably the claim that "People such as scientist Stephen Hawking wouldn't have a chance in the UK, where the National Health Service would say the life of this brilliant man, because of his physical handicaps, is essentially worthless." They apparently didn't realise that he was born, live and works in the UK.

Because their prices aren't being regulated. I mean, with the power that corporations have in the US these days Americans could get screwed either way, but there'd be much more incentive to regulate were the coverage universal.

Under the new Healthcare laws some one like hawk would probably be saved. Unlike the little girl that needed a lung transplant and people in the administration like Kathleen Sebelius had no problem letting die under the laws.

Poor insurance companies, having to actually USE capitalistic ideals like a free market and consumer driven prices rather than insider trading and corporate socialism to get a decent bottom line.

I have a friend in the US who is a nurse. She is very angry about the healthcare reform because of the way it impacts her as a professional. She is not a pharmaceutical company, or an employee thereof, just a hospital nurse.

She is also very angry about the revision of school lunch nutrition under Obama (the 2010 Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act). She says that in their attempt to fight obesity the Obama administration forgot that for some kids, school lunch is the only meal of the day.
