We just can't make up our minds as to what to call Australia.

The point is that the US uses so many countries and then some people react so surprised when we get hated on or are expected to deal with our own messes (This includes you, btw). It's like we can't take responsibility for our actions (This is definitely a shot at you). Australia really is a tame example by all respects and that should say something.

By the time she is old enough, either one of two things will have happened.

A: She and her socialist brethren will have will have gone the way of the Dinosaur. The US isn't a socialist country, and their ideas are an anathema to a good portion of the population.

B: Her elders will have succeeded in changing the country; it will no longer be the U.S. as we know it. Most likely, free elections will be a thing of the past as well, so she won't have anything to run for.

To be perfectly honest, I had never heard of socialism or liberals until I looked into US politics or this thread. Not once have I ever heard someone here call our system socialism. Social measures? Sure, but socialism?

I think only the US truly enjoys labeling everything like that.
