This is the failure of society, ignoring ability in favour of training. encourage ability, not test scores.
How many times have I said that the education industry has hoodwinked business on the value of their product?

Only about 1/4 of college graduates actually work in the field that they got their sheepskin for. And further, and worse is that very often idiots that have been awarded a sheepskin, but know nothing about the operation of a business are hired by top manangement and proceed to screw things up royally, because they have nothing but book learning, rather than practical experience running the place, which they can get by promoting long-serving employees.

    Nonsense.
Unless the casino has goons that go out into the guy's home and drag him in and park him in front of a gambling device or table, it is all on the gambler who keeps coming back. Responsible for your own choices, remember?

Oh, that's right, you don't believe that people should be responsible for their own choices.

Haven't you noticed that I disagree with much of what my generation did? In fact, that was one of Trump's strong points; he didn't agree with the "establishment" of his party.

Those poor Democrats. #MeToo is going to hang this guy out to dry.
And Biden is their best chance.

Joe Biden Expresses Regret to Anita Hill, but She Says ‘I’m Sorry’ Is Not Enough

WASHINGTON — Joe Biden knew Anita Hill was going to be an issue for him. So a few weeks ago, as he prepared for his presidential announcement, he reached out to her through an intermediary and arranged a telephone call, hoping to assuage her.

It did not go how he had hoped.

On Thursday, the first day of his presidential campaign, the Biden camp disclosed the call, saying the former vice president had shared with Ms. Hill “his regret for what she endured” 28 years ago, when, as the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, he presided over the confirmation hearings in which she accused Clarence Thomas, President George Bush’s nominee to the Supreme Court, of sexual harassment.

But Ms. Hill says the call from Mr. Biden left her feeling deeply unsatisfied.

You're talking from both side of your ass again.

You keep repeating over and over again how much you guys paid for everything you've got and yata yata yata don't give me the ''I don't agree with my generation'' crap.

You're a fool for believing that. Trump IS the establishment and the lobbies' *****.

I.E. Changing the interpretation of the protection of the migrate bird treaty with Canada / Mexico, removing legal liability for corps that are responsible for killing those birds due to the lack of protective measures for wastes disposal / dangerous infrastructures. As of now, a US corp cannot be sued for a major oil spill, even if they are responsible. That's bowing to lobbies demands right there and a big step backwards in regards to the industrial world.

Does that affect you and all the others from the middle class? Nope. Just the 1%ers.
                Spoiler:
I don’t want to be human. I want to see gamma rays, I want to hear X-rays, and I want to smell dark matter. Do you see the absurdity of what I am? I can’t even express these things properly, because I have to—I have to conceptualize complex ideas in this stupid, limiting spoken language, but I know I want to reach out with something other than these prehensile paws, and feel the solar wind of a supernova flowing over me. I’m a machine, and I can know much more.

If you recall, it was my generation that greatly expanded the welfare system, just to cite one example.

I don't believe that for a minute. Wasn't BP nearly driven out of business after an oil spill?
Trump's stance on Free Trade certainly isn't popular with the business elites. Nor is his stance on illegal immigration. I could name others, but you get the point, I would hope.

That's right, Deepwater Horizon, which Obama tried to fix shortly after a commission to tighten the safety regulations around oil rigs.

But then came your King, who destroyed that bill with an EO.

like I said.....in the past the TRULY indigent could be educated for little or no cost based on a sliding scale of a person's income or would charge perhaps a low flat percentage of a person's net income (which would still result in truly indigent paying less as X percent of a net income, which is gross income minus household expenses, of say $5000, is less than X percent of $20,000) but enabling able-bodied people who simply refuse to do some honest work and want everything paid for and handed to them on a silver platter is flat-out wrong
Then why isn't this a problem for countries like Canada, UK, Israel, Germany, Japan, and just about every advanced/developed and nearly developed country in the world? The thing is that your assessment is wrong. The reason the prices of education are so high in the college level, for example, is because of the private sector. It appreciates the prices of everything. Take that out, and prices plummet. Marketing takes up a huge part of the budget for many universities, not the actual process of teaching. A lot of places are expensive for no reason other than that they are prestigious, you pay 50K a year just for the brand name itself. Harvard doesn't really teach anything different than Penn State. It just has higher standards and makes the students work harder but not smarter. Really, there is no point in going to Harvard unless you are going to be a lawyer or a gifted scientist or a business tycoon. And most of the value of Harvard for those careers isn't so much the quality of the education, but the connections you can get there.

People don't know how to navigate Colleges and often forget that that expensive private school has an inferior Ag science program than the local community college. Or that paying 100K a year for a low paying career makes zero sense whatsoever.

So? Just because you didn't get something no one else should? That argument is one I'd expect from a five year old, not a grown man.

i am listening to cnn and what they have ben saying about donald trump, and I realized I have heard things like this before, not NIXON, like the cnn special that has ben running there, but, Ronald Reagan, his people tried to protect the country from his decisions too, he had competent people, but, since the people who are around trump aren't political experts, they are groping in the dark, if I remember correctly, Ronald Reagan wasn't told about his Alzheimers either, I am wondering if Donald trump has the same, because he is showing some of the signs of it.
