Being mugged, having your house robbed, being raped or beaten to within an inch of ones life causes people to suffer, for along time. Some people never get over things like that. If someone is going to inflict that upon me, someone i care about, or any other innocent citizen, i dont care if my form of self defence makes them suffer.

OK then. If we're taking it to the extreme. If you ever find yourself on jury, with a man guilty of rape, and his defence is "I like it, so i did it", are you going to let him off? Would you allow muslim extremists access to nuclear material because "they like it"? Would you want the president of the united states ( present or future) to eliminate freedom of speech because he doesnt like what peopel say? (If you're gonna make things legal because some people like them, then the same goes for making things illegal)

Im not arguing (this time anyway) that guns should be banned. Just that "i like it" isnt a good enough reason to make something legal.
