So I watched some stuff recently:

The Wolverine, at the cinema. It was okay. Not up to early X-Men or First Class standards, of course, but not quite as bad as Wolverine Origins. I just really, really, really wish they hadn't made it about a girl. There is more to Logan than just doing stuff because of girls. I'm tired of seeing superheroes doing stuff like pining after women, or only finding sufficient motivation to get their asses in gear to rescue/revenge their wimmin-folk.

Superhero robots would be good, because I don't believe robots would have feelings, and could be more heroic without the whole romance thing lingering over the storyline like a giant pink elephant with a chainsaw.

Which leads me on to the second film I watched recently:

The Proposal, on DVD. Which, some might say ironically, is about a girl, and romance. Which I'm okay with because I was actually expecting it. And I thought it might suck. But it had a few funny moments, despite the rather predictable plot. I can't say I'd recommend it, but it did give me some ideas. All I need now is Ryan Reynolds, one of those MiB Neuralizers, an Elvis Presley impersonator, and an empty grave.

I should also say I don't normally watch RomComs. The last one I watched was Love Actually, and the one I watched before that was 10 Things I Hate About you, and before that it was The Englishman Who Went Up A Hill But Came Down A Mountain. That about sums up all the romcoms I've ever watched.
Beware of he who would deny you access to information, for in his heart he dreams himself your master.

Never thought of Englishman as a romcom, but a good movie. Didn't like any of the ones you mentioned. For the best romcoms you have to go back to the days of Cary Grant, Katherine Hepburn, and that era. They truly don't make them like they use to. But for more recent , 'One Fine Day', Overboard, Ever After. I could come up with some more if I thought harder. RomComs are a tricky category - different things about them appeal or annoy different people. My niece is a big fan but the only one we both like is Ever After.
