Mine is purple on top, DG's is red, and only the purple on appears on the new egg update thing

1) I believe that the top color band on the banded eggs corresponds to the color dorsal fin that hatchling/adult will have. only one color egg appears for each type in the picture. the "scribble" eggs come in four different colors like their hatchlings, and there is only one color "scribble" egg in the picture.
2) the new pinks are both male and female, if you click the hatchlings in TJ's post, you'll see that the females have upwards tails and the males have downward tails.

I wonder if a purple can breed a red, and i also wonder it scribbles can breed a different colour scribble
