In German you can speak of any religion, be it still practiced or not (or even fictional like the Silmarilion), as an mythology. And that´s also my opinion. Therefor you can find the Silmarilion right beside the Bible and Bhagavad Gita in my bookshelf. And I hope I get round to read the Koran some time too.
