You could have my sandwich baggie full of Canadian silver coins....I have at least $10 worth of Canadian money in that baggie you could use as spending money in Canada provided you stop off in Buffalo on your way in to Canada. I switch out any Canadian silver I find in my cash register because I find that if I try to slip the silver into a customer, such as a Canadian quarter for example...they'll ask "Do you have an American quarter?

Generally they don't care about the pennies though if they happen to get one. And If I notice that a customer has Canadian silver when they're paying I'll tell them that I can take it and I'll just switch it out of the register later.

Though I think cashiers in Canada might get a little peeved if you try to pay for your order all in coins
