    Dice are for true uber-geeks.

*drools at Nutty's system* My computer is pathetically low on RAM (128mb). I'm hoping to soon replace it with a couple of 512mb chips. Does anyone remember the day when 8mb of RAM was a ludicris amount?

yeahhhh you're gonna hate me for this....

I'm working on custom-building a new system based on
-a motherboard with an Athlon 64FX processor running at around 2-2.5 GHz,
-Dual GeForce 6800 256 bit PCI Express video cards in SLI mode, both running at 425 MHz and with 256MB RAM each ...only card that beats the 6800 is the 7800 which goes for >$300(usually closer to $500),http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130267
            -1 GB system RAM
            -80-120 GB hard drive.

I'm buying the case on friday

The plan is to take the 512MB RAM stick from my current system, and maybe, at least initially the HD and DVD drive to save money, though I do want to keep it running as a Linux system/server, so we'll see. Also, the SLI thing will be later...initially I'll only have one card

              MX...*shudders*

Upgrade. Now. I recommend the FX-5200/5500...stay away from the 5700...more expensive for same/less performance than the 5200. Check out www.newegg.com

I ran civ 4 off the thing pretty well (with only 3 opponents) until I got new drivers. Now it wont even start civ 4.
