Only if you tell me I should be in church after you post the titles. Everything should be given a fair shot.

LOL! I'm also older than Callista.

I'm exactly the same. Can I just sing all my nominations? lalalalalalalala

Since I have no idea who to nominate, I'll second your songs *just so everyone can see I've posted something!*
      **squeel** Thanks!

For those of you who don't listen to the radio anymore ... This is what you're missing.

Big & Rich 8th of November

Excuse me while I get kleenex.
      Adrianne
I love this song. It took me several times listening to it to love it. I dunno why. I used to switch stations when the song came on, but one day I really listen to it, and I loved it. I was the same way with "Amarillo Sky" by Jason Aldean.

I wouldn't mind you sharing them. I love all kinds of music (mostly) so I listen to a huge variety. I'm not a huge religious person and so don't listen to much Christian music, but I'm always suprise to find out that I have songs by Christian bands on my computer. I feel in love with singer so thus I tried to find all of her songs I could find. When I was looking her up, I find out her songs were talking about God.

Well, I have to say that I have the luck to work in my field of study, environmental sciences, so I guess I shouldn't complain much... if only I could have a different boss.... (like cutty MS, or maybe RDA... THAT would make me stay at the office 24-7!!!!! )

OK, then I'm 21 with 10 years of experience.... I can definitively live by that!!

The problem is that all those years of experience play against me iknowing the songs you all children are nominating!

Here are the ones I know and like:

      - Collide (Howie Day)
      - Here with me (Dido)

The only ones I know.... I feel so old experienced...
Hey, I'm only 20 and I don't know half of the songs being nominating. Before last year, I've been stuck in the 50's and 60's! And because I hate listening to comericals, I only listened to CDs. So I'm only now discovering some of the more recent songs that have been out there.

Most of the songs I nominated only came out in 2005/6. I was almost afraid that I wouldn't find anything from this decade on my computer.

Here's some links for songs that needs seconding. Unsure if someone else already post links, but stupid me, didn't click on them. **sighs** I really should go back and click on some links being offered.

        "Facedown" by Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
        http://boss.streamos.com/wmedia/virg...eid=purevolume
This is the first time I've seen this vid and the first time I saw what they look like. They look so young!

        Cowboys From Hell - Pantera
        http://youtube.com/watch?v=FV2xVvJddxY
This is the first time I heard this song. I know I've heard something by Pantera but I can't remember what song. I kinda like this song.

        Held by Natalie Grant
        http://youtube.com/watch?v=W1qivghgnnc
Again, this was my first time listening to this song, but I would second this song if I had any votes left. **goes off to find song for computer**

        Home by Michael Buble
        http://youtube.com/watch?v=TQM1Qs857xc
I love Michael Buble! I would second this song as well! He has a very nice voice. One of my favorite songs of his is "Quando, Quando, Quando" with Nelly Furtado.

Fake Tales Of San Francisco - Artic Monkeys
        http://youtube.com/watch?v=j2b0AwWt3uI
This link is for Kliggins if Kliggins wants to listen to this song. Also first time hearing it, but I like it.

It's strange that I like the song, but can't stand the vid or Beyonce, she looks... too aware of her beauty, kinda like a fake/too diva to me, no matter howmany people says she's a nice person...

Phew, there's still time. Happy Birthday L-JADE, you youngster! Have you really just turned 18?

Whatever gave you that idea ?? *look suspiciously* have you been talking to Ronja ??? or maybe you're getting that from my posts ??

            but.. uh! thanks

woohoo! I'm not middle aged yet! TFFT
If you can say that, then our age could actually in the same range

            ahem! back to nomination :

            8. Can't Get You Out Of My Head - Kylie Minogue (2nd ??)

I completly agree (except for the part about liking the song ). She is very fake/divaish. It's soooo.....staged. Like she's standing up there saying, "look at me and how great I am". I find that unappealing in music.

I don't believe that music and the videos should serve as an ego trip for the performer.

Blessed - Martina McBride A very Christian song, although it's on a Country label. (and I LOVE it!!!)

Have You Forgotten? - Daryl Worley To get the full impact of this song, it really helps to be American... *sniffle* (I sorta have a love/hate thing going on with this song - it makes my proud and it makes me cry)

Travelin' Soldier - Dixie Chicks This one's sad, too (and very romantic)... The song is about an American soldier, but can apply to any soldier, really.

Whiskey Lullaby - Brad Paisley featuring Alison Krause (did you already post this, Adrianne? Oh well...) It's like, your classic Country "done me wrong song". The harmony is very beautifull!! (there's also a BSG fan video with that song, if anyone cares)

Hurt - Johnny Cash It was written by a guy from Nine Inch Nails (if you've ever heard of them). It's a pretty moving song about regret in life, starting over, second chances - that sort of thing, I guess. Which is sad, because soon after he sang that song he died... (RIP, John )

Well, it was fun looking for all these songs. I hope you all enjoy them. (I might do more, later)

I realize that it is very possible that I could have made some mistakes in the tallying of nominations, so feel free to point out any you find.

                        Thanks Adrianne and Ronj!

AND please list the song title first and the artist second. This makes my tallying method a lot easier. Thanks!!

OH, one more thing. I'd like to welcome all the newcomers to our tourney. I hope you guys have a great time here!!
GG, sorry if I'm overlooking it, but I don't see one of my nominations on either list. It's Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy) by Big & Rich. This still needs a second too if anyone's interested!!!

One more quick question. If we have votes left can we second our own songs??? Just curious...lol.

Thanks for all the wonderful welcomes and for everyone who found links to the songs I suggested.

I don't expect this one to go far but it is a beautiful song and I love Annie Lennox. Just warning you all to expect lotsa Eurythmics when we get to the relevant decades
Oooh! I love that one! And not just because it's the only song I can sing and actually sound half decent (I sound nothing like her and have my own style, though...)!! I might've helped it onto the list... but I used up my votes...

Okay. Whew! This is going to take awhile ... The Hangmen thread is going to Hang me.

No I'm not comfortable with doing that. I can't, no one can (or should, I guess) force you to go to Church. I'm just terribly self-conscious about my love for God.

I'm not a huge religious person and so don't listen to much Christian music, but I'm always suprise to find out that I have songs by Christian bands on my computer. I feel in love with singer so thus I tried to find all of her songs I could find. When I was looking her up, I find out her songs were talking about God.
Right now I'm listening to Country music so I have these ...

Me and Charlie Talking by Miranda Lambert She is so freakin' pretty!
                              Kerosene by Miranda Lambert

(Ainty, I absolutely ADORE Over My Head by The Fray )

Every Mile A Memory by Dierks Bentley

(Oo it looks like Gary Allan has a new CD out?!
Myn, have you heard Nickajack Cave (Johnny Cash's Redemption) by Gary Allan??)

And then for Christian Pop ... I have more than these but I was able to find videos for these:

Getting Into You by RELIENT K (This song reminds me of my call to be a nun when others ridicule me for it and don't understand ...)
                              Believe by Andy Chrisman

Okay ... Time to move on

Again, this was my first time listening to this song, but I would second this song if I had any votes left. **goes off to find song for computer**
                              That's so cool

Agreed. I hated strongly disliked that song when it first came out and then as time passed and it seemed people started to forget and my political views changed, I just love that song ... In a "Wow that's a really hard song" kind of way.

Sorry, it was just an oversight on my part. It's there now.

No, right now, that's not possible, but we'll see later on. We only have half the songs nominated right now, and nominating ends tomorrow, so keep an eye on the thread for any last minute bonuses.(And extra vote, a free pass for a song, etc.)
