It was a "10 years later" thing... showing a kid walking across a grassy cliff-top towards the sea and singing the Pirate song (adorable kid and I know I know him from somewhere else ) then they show Elizabeth, and they watch the sunset together (kid's nearly in tears, so it woulda killed your SIL, cajn ) then they both smile as they see the green flash on the horizon. That was it. No monkey, no dog.
