There's no time like the present. Though I would like to see the past or the distant future, I don't think I could stay. There are many stories to be told and deeds to be done in the here and now.

Very good question. I think knowing would be worse because even though you would have knowledge of your future death, lingering questions would remain: Is it a definite future or a possible future? Or can that future be changed? By not knowing, there's no restriction with your free will.

thats a good one... probably not. no matter how much we want to change the past whats to say by changing that one thing we dont cause something far worse to happen further down the line.

Definitely for what it is. Trying to see the world as a "pretty place" when it is not so only leads to not trying to fix whats wrong in the world. As a matter of principle I always try to accept the world for what it is, there is no use to pretend otherwise as your actions would then be based on a lie.
