New TV Series for Michael Shanks - CTV's "Saving Hope" Picked Up...

I seem to sense sarcasm here... In Italy we have a saying for that "campa cavallo che l'erba cresce" same as "tha'll be the day when the cows come home..." I still remember the very few Michael's interviews posted after many months, therefore completely outdated.

I do my best...I was told by Darren to put my news bits in an email and send them to him...which I have done with both Michael's LEO Award win & when the 2nd series started airing in Canada earlier this summer...I post on this thread and in the DJ/MS Thunk Thread - and include updated news with links to MSOL ....

Maybe my previous email got lost...this time I've pm'd Darren and sent an email....if anyone else has up-to-date Michael news then I suggest they do the same and email [email protected] ...


But, good news, the renewal news is up on the Front Page now, so yay!!...my email got through!!

A quick check revealed that series 2, Episodes 8 & 9, are available online. I think those were the last ones to air. Pardon me if I missed it above, but I believe it's due to start up again soon. It's too bad it wasn't given more of a chance in the US as it got markedly better as time went on. I actually wasn't all that thrilled with it to begin with, either. But once they decided where they were going with it, I really enjoyed it.

I have continued to watch this show and I have to admit that it has grown on me and has got better over the two seasons. I enjoy the cross between' ER' and 'The Sixth Sense' idea. The characters are getting more interesting, I really like the quirky Maggie.

'Wishbone' pt 1 was really good I thought, a gruesome accident was so....ugh realistically done! Michael is as good as ever and has settled nicely into the role and plays 'handsome' surgeon wonderfully!

A nice twist added to his relationship with Alex too....

....trying to help Alex deal with her grief at losing her brother by actually telling her that he can see the dead and dying, telling her she could talk to him through him.....

II just watched Episode 10.....and Michael was awesome at the end....and wow is he ageing really handsomely....the tiny bit of grey around the temples with the shorter hair is really distinguished imho....and it's so lovely to see him playing a more mature lead role ...


I will be hopefully able to access all the "behind the scenes" stuff on the CTV website when I'm back in Vancouver in April...yep, I'm coming back again.... ...no surprise there then?....doing Downtown, over to Tofino and back to Downtown & hopefully taking in Fan Expo over the Easter weekend this time..

Hoping against hope that Michael and Lexa might be asked to attend...*crossing fingers*...


Or at least a few Continuum cast again...

I wondered if you were going to be around for the Vancouver Fan Expo. It was great fun last year, there were a few faces from Stargate as a nice bonus too. I'm looking forward to going again so hopefully we'll bump into each other.

I watched the 'Last Call' shorts the Saving Hope cast did. They are funny and you will certainly enjoy them when you get a chance to access the CTV website during your visit to Vancouver.

Yep we hope to take in two Cons over a 5 week period...we're spending time in the N.West of the US visitng Emerald City Comic Con & doing a Road Trip through Washington State, Oregon & N Cali (as well as fitting in Santa Monica & Disney beforehand) - then we're flying from San Fran to Vancouver, picking up a car, heading to Tofino before coming back on the Thurs before Fan Expo...


I'm really looking forward to meeting Bruce Campbell and I'm bringing my Burn Notice DVD S.2 with me...if Michael goes then I'd be lucky enough to get TWO signatures wouldn't I? ...I live in "Hope"...*snerk*...

Of course he might be back in TO filming S.3 by then - although most of the stars seem to think they won't film until May/June as it will be moving to a Fall/Winter Season slot next year....

Look forward to seeing you there hopefully.....we're nice & close to the venue....staying at the Pan P as always..
