In my opinion Mckay rules. The only reason carter was better then him is that she was far more familiar with the alien tech than him. He was used to think like a normal scientist from earth and he wasn't thinking outside the box.
Yes he's cocky but we've seen more than in one ocasion that he really is a good guy. He doesn't have a choice; that's just the way he is.
McKay. He's actually a human being who admits his mistakes. It takes smarts to make mistakes every now and then (and integrity to own up to them). Sam Carter lacks these qualities.
"There is simply no other choice than this: either to abstain from interference in the free play of the market, or to delegate the entire management of production and distribution to the government. Either capitalism or socialism: there exists no middle way."
-Ludwig von Mises
Well, they're both much smarter than me, so I can't really compare. However, Carter can hold her own in the field, which is an area where Mckay seriously lacks.
* Always remember - You are unique, just like everyone else. *
* Avoid employing unlucky people, throw half of the CVs in the bin without reading them. *
Carter is a little smarter, she isnt cocky about it and she figures things out in an instant whereas McKay is so damn arrogant (Trinity: Tha Ancients made the mistake. WHAT???) he cant see his mistakes.
Equality is not a concept. It's not something we should be striving for. It's a necessity. Equality is like gravity. We need it to stand on this earth as men and women. And the misogyny that is in every culture is not a true part of the human condition. It is life out of balance, and that imbalance is sucking something out of the soul of every man and woman who is confronted with it.

As far as I'm concerned, it's the other way around.

Sam Carter kicks Rodney Mckays behind!!!
Mckay only admits his mistakes when forced to confront them, he tries to avoid any situation that makes him wrong and if he is wrong he vehlmently denies it until he has too and his mistake is ramming him in the face.
I think there is an ep in season two where they are aboard the Deadelus and Mckay makes a mistake and cant admit that he is wrong. I think it nearly costs them their lives. I'm pretty sure this is where the Asgard version of Mckay is introduced aka Hermiod.
Feel free to correct me if I am wrong about the episode info, unfortunately I am only remembering what I have read on Gateworld as Channel 7 has not yet aired Season 2 of Atlantis in Australia yet.
But my opinion of Mckay still stands the man doesnt like to be wrong, but then again who does eh?
IMO Carter is smarter than Mckay, Their Two extremely smart people but i think Carter is just a small bit ahead, we have seen this a few times, where Carter out smarts Mckay.
I dont really care who is smarter, all i care is that the two of them are super genious's
The doctor told me Im insane, thank God! its so much better then being outsane!
CARTER OWNS mckay in everyway possible. plus she's not cocky and she's hot.
Well, I'd choose McKay just because he cracks me up.
But Sam is so smart and she's a girl and I don't think there are a lot of girls astro physysists (that's what I was told anyway) So Sam!
But I don't know.. haha McKay is so funny!
