Great work, guys.

You've done a superb job at GateWorld 2.0. The look is very professional and streamlined, it all fits in very well, and better yet, it's surprisingly easy on the eyes. The lighter colour scheme really helps out there. There doesn't seem to be any problems, at least, not yet.

For those of you that constantly ask when the Forum will adapt that visual look, too, Darren has said numerous times that it will be done later this year.

Okay. I understand. I just wanted to have that really cool image rotating thing w/o using randomimage.net cuz sometimes my pics don't show up. Oh, and, where can I find the new Gateworld logo? cant remember where it was (just the logo)

What Exactly does the no-www do? Its not a big deal if you type http://www.gateworld.net VS. http://gateworld.net.

The page at http://no-www.org/ explains the philosophy about why the usage of "www." should be deprecated. But the issue here is not about whether it's harder to type one or another, or even whether they both work (they do). It's about using relative instead of absolute links. For instance, when I'm on the main page at http://gateworld.net and click on the link about "The Real Weir", it takes me to http://www.gateworld.net/interviews/the_real_weir.shtml, when it should take me to http://gateworld.net/interviews/the_real_weir.shtml. There's no reason to use an absolute link; it can only cause problems, like the other day when the non-WWW site's DNS was working but the WWW site's wasn't, so half of the graphics showed up and the rest were missing. If there's ever an issue with the DNS or the primary server bank and the DNS needs to switch to a secondary server (which can actually happen quite often with large sites requiring multiple servers), it will be a lot smoother with relative links. Just something to consider.

AHA! I think I figured out the "random news article appearances" problem I had with the old forum 'cos it's happening with GW2.0- new articles are appearing in between older articles.

When I looked last night there was the bit about SG-1's cancellation followed by Coop's promise that it wasn't over yet. Now there are two NEW articles in between those two. Is that a glitch, a refresh problem or intentional?

Yep, it's deliberate, in order to keep the highest-priority news items at the top for the day!

FD, I use Firefox and see no horizontal scrollbar. None of our beta testers reported it either, that I recall. Not sure how this would be fixed for the handful of browser that are deciding to display it ...
