Well the thing is that Rodney designed that drive that jumps from one universe to the other and charges itself with a buffer...
At the momement that drive does not help us much, but the FTL also uses a buffer / countdowdn, so maybe there is a chance that something usefull can come from this.
Hyperspace is to slow for now, but if we create Wormwhole drive with a buffer, which can move us like several mio LY per jump and this jumps happen like 2 times per day, than we could meet Destiny in mather of 12 to 18 months, depending on their location in space.

My point was that we can try to make our hyperdrives as good as the Asgard had them for their O'niell class ships. They where able to move our X-303 and their ship from somewhere in MW to Earth in mather of few seconds. If that's not fast, I dont know what is.
If we use Asgard Hyperdirves I know that we can reach Destiny in mather of a year or faster.

Asgard ship speeds have debatably been retconned though.
Even so it would take a long period of continuous travel to reach the Destiny, can hyperdrives handle months of use at their top speeds? Can we provide the power to do this without a ZPM?
A ZPM is worth more than the hundred or so people on Destiny...Robert Jastrow (self-proclaimed agnostic): "For the scientist who has lived by his faith in the power of reason, the story ends like a bad dream. He has scaled the mountains of ignorance; he is about to conquer the highest peak; as he pulls himself over the final rock, he is greeted by a band of theologians who have been sitting there for centuries."

Guys all we need to do is make a flux capacitor and we can use the Wormhole Drive safely, right?Vote Anubis for President in 2012A Face you Can TrustsigpicSo whats the worst that could happen?Supporter of the "It's Asgard, NOT AsgUard !" campaignIt is better to debate a question without settling it than to settle a question without debating it.

As I said in another thread: reverse engineer the solar powering thing, then reverse engineer the wormhole drive and create a method of using stars itselfs to make the wormholes stable; in other words, turn them into Star-gates, literally.
Enter a star, use its energy to activate the wormhole drive and appears inside another star somewhere else, like in the Smurf Galaxy (we know the distance from here and the position of the stars there, thanks to Destiny's database).
Actually, just go ahead and do all this fancy Deus Ex-Machina into a BIG, brand new BS-305 DSD (Battleship 305 Deep Space Dreadnought). With docking clamps on it's "belly" or it's "wings" for 2 of our BC-304 DSC's (Battlecruisers 304 Deep Space Carriers) as escorts. Like this baby:
Spoiler:
Don't forget to give it Hyperdrive and Warpdrive as well, for full mobility choice, and basic stuff like Asgard Plasma of Doom, IMBA Drones, Beam Teleport, Rings for back-up, Railguns and Missiles for a pinch, F-302's, etc etc.
Now THAT's a great fleet to acompany DestinyOne Ring to rule the Dark Side
