Upgrading the SGC

well that's the thing. we dont need the sattelite for use of asgard beaming. we can install the platform deap inside SGC, Area 51, underground white house bunker for fast White house evacuation, etc.

Or maybe even beaming platforms could be installed also in China, France, Russia and UK. By doing so a fast transport to SGC could be enables to all IOA countries. This way IOA countries could save on time and costs when travelling to SCG or IOA meetings.

IMO there are far better things to use the money an upgrade would cost for such as SGC personell budget the 304 program etc besides the SGC serves it's pupose and does it quite well!

i disagree, but my upgrades would not cost all that much - make the stargate room bigger, make it possible to use jumpers (or similar earth build craft) without having the room look tiny, put real weapons in it in order to keep people that breached the iris there (like those machine-cannons they had there in one episode and upgrade the control room) and maybe put a shield generator in place (one for the gate, like the atlantis shield and one to shield the room - for quarantine purposes and of course for protection)

as for further upgrades: carter spoke in one episode (or was it a film?) from a new moonbase, so why not put the gate there and send people there and back via transpoter system (or rings)? this would make earth saver and give the SGC a brand new base!

it was Stargate Continium, so it was a movie. If we build SGC on moon, can that effect on moon's position around the earth? and other stuff like that?

nope it can not. it would require all kinds of new measures like air tightness and anti-asteroid weapons and shields to stop such asteroids, aswell as radiation shielding.

the SGC and atlantis rooms are HUGE. MASSIVE. only on film, they look tiny. mostly due to perspective.

the sgc gateroom is 2 stories high.

i dont think we need tons of shields. just ceramic polymer coating, magnetic sealed blast doors, two bunkers with MG's and an armory with kull disruptors and the like, and a seperate control room which controls the base while the old one controls the gateroom.
