i would keep it wraith style, but i would build in a organic version of the horizon weapon, but this one armed with wraith stun bombs, so you could take out a large portion of a planet and than capture them.
i would steal some antishield missiles from F-302's and than replace the explosives with a storage+beam module, and the top with a drill, and mount them on darts. so i could enter ships

If I was stuck with a Hive I would add a chair,a mini fridge and put in some lamps. A man has to be able to see what the hell he's doing.

How about only one upgrade, and ZPM is not an option, niether is all of the asgard tech. ONE thing to change.

I would choose additional power, an ancient powersource or an asgard equivalent, whatever is more durable and smaller, this way so i can regenrate hull better and maybe boost hyperdrive a little. No sense in shields since the hive is so big and its power generation would probably not be able to withstand battle for very long, an intergalactic hyperdrive would still take about 2 months to travel from PG to MW.

Changing one thing for the best effect in my opinion would be the fighters it carries. Replace darts with a hyperdrive capable gunship that can fire some sort of missile and you're golden for massive long range attacks against ships planets or whatever you want.

Shields is also a big one if you want more of a battleship, but I figure you'll get more usefullness out of a carrier if you use it right.

The sheer size of a hiveship begs to be used as some sort of mobile base or even factory as opposed to just a dull conventional gunboat. Let the cruisers be the gunboats, they're almost as good as a hive for a fraction of the size.

The best use of it is to send it in our own galaxy and to colonize it in our own galaxy... Equip it with a large number of transport beam..remove the weapons, place more asgard hyperdrives.

I dont think it would be a cost effective if we upgrade it with weapons and shields. And also it was very large target.

I would throw out all the squishy and slimy parts then make it a huge casino with nice hotel rooms, park it somewhere in the MW galaxy like a huge Space-Vegas and enjoy my life as the proud and ridiculously rich owner of this facility.
